REAL opinions:
Flash Sentry is actually overpushed and over emphasized in the movies, and I’m glad that Sci-Twi kinda sorta indirectly rejected him. I feel like Flash and Sunset should be friends, but that he shouldn’t be with any of the main characters just because it doesn’t feel natural to have his relationship stuff on screen anymore.
I wish Twilight had been a little slower to fix so many problems, but I understand that to begin with, the show’s pacing wasn’t really designed around it. So whatever.
Gilda, Trixie and Starlight have good development throughout their episodes. I won’t get into it because this is for _un_popular opinions.
I wish Sombra had gotten more screen time or felt like a real threat.
Rarity is still very egocentric, and I hate that a ton of her earlier episodes (not all, but many) were about her doing a lot of things for herself and it happening to work out in the end, like when she went to Canterlot and threw a week away without learning anything because it worked out in the end without anyone getting mad. With that said, “Art of the Dress” and “Green Isn’t Your Color” are fantastic season 1 episodes with her.
I’ll probably think of some more opinions later. You guys have fun lambasting me for these ones! I’ll be sure to keep my discussion friendly!

So, this has been fun, but I have to say something:
- None of the opinions I’ve stated here are real. I’ve been exaggerating arguments that I’ve heard various places and pretending (sometimes) that I agreed with them.
- I did this because I’m in a Discord call with Chrys, and I wanted to entertain them. Also, I got tips on contrarian opinions to say and things to do to get reactions, which has worked fantastically.
No, this doesn’t mean it was Chrys’s idea, I fully chose and wanted to do this myself, but now I’m done with being an asshole.
- I’ll post my real opinions here now and want as many people to try to argue/debate with me, as I’m happy to let people shit on my opinions for themselves. I don’t want to continue causing trouble, I just wanted to have a little fun for a while, and I am choosing to call it off now before I get too deep and cause real problems.

Oh, she has redeeming qualities. I just don’t like her being the amazing super great hero of Equestria that she’s basically considered to be in the show. Y’know, her having the Princess babysitter, her brother being captain of the guard. She’s the reason everything always works out, with a rare exception because of plot.

Someone at TvTropes observed that “Mary Sue” is actually the reaction that fans may have to a work that “is unduly favoring a character by changing other characters or the environment in inappropriate ways. When the audience calls “Mary Sue” on a character, the author has shattered their Willing Suspension of Disbelief.”

Everyone immediately liked her. They all go to help her and she’s all amazing to everyone. Just because she’s not perfect doesn’t mean everyone else didn’t immediately think she was great and shit. That’s my view of the first episodes. The fuckin’ pacing is garbage and makes her seem like she’s instantly attracting friends from all goddamn corners. Yes, Pinkie makes sense. Sure, AJ makes sense too in a rustic, courtesy overexaggerated way, and that’s fine. Rarity and Rainbow and Fluttershy have no reason to follow her except “Welp, that’s the magic purple pony that the plot is following, so here we go!”
