Another reason I’m kinda turned off the Switch is because of how expensive the controller accessories are, and such. That might hurt the system to.

16 years after I first played it, I finally beat Link’s Awakening. With no deaths.
 
I mean, I cheesed it a bit by using restore points every now and then when I was about to die, but it still counts.

Made it to Eagle’s Tower in Link’s Awakening.

That’s true, but I’m pretty sure a majority of gamers also have at least one of those other devices.

I actually agree, but regardless they do come in handy for those who don’t have such devices. (I don’t have a tablet, or smartphone, and my computer is busted, so if WiiU had no browser, I wouldn’t be here now.)

Yeah, I personally believe that web surfing and movie viewing on a video game console is a bit overrated. Because why do it on your console when you can just do it on one of your other devices that you probably have? I mean for me, I have a laptop and an iPad that I can use for streaming videos and surfing the web.
 
No Miiverse was a little concerning to me, but I’ll see what they have to make up for it.

And when I was talking about movies, I wasn’t talking about DVD players, I was talking about movie services like Netflix.

I have made it through the Face Shrine… I am officially farther into the game than I ever have been before…
 
16 years, man… I first played the game when I was 9 years old in 2001. But I couldn’t even figure out where the Tail Cave even was… I was a dumb kid back then.
 
But man… after 16 years, I may finally be able to beat this childhood classic of mine… It’s an odd feeling.

Yeah, it’s not that I feel a game system needs non-gaming features like video streaming, but they are a plus. I may be overreacting, but I think gamers spoiled by other modern consoles with video & internet features are going to be a bit turned off the Switch being video game only. Some are already angry it’s going to get rid of Miiverse.
 
I love Nintendo, but they do some things I find odd. Like making it so their official websites don’t work on the WiiU & 3DS internet browsers…

Don’t underestimate the appeal of those features in this day and age. Part of why the PS2 and PS3 sold like hotcakes is because they were relatively cheap DVD and Blu-Ray players, respectively. If Nintendo wants the Switch to sell strictly as a games machine, it better have some damn good software backing it up.

Welp… Made it through Catfish’s Maw, completed the Trade Sequence and got the Boomerang, went to Southern Face Shrine and learned the secret of Koholint Island, and made it to the Face Shrine in Link’s Awakening DX… And I’m pretty sure that this is where I had hit the roadblock that caused me to stop playing it for several years…
 
Here’s hoping I can actually get through it and finally beat the game this time… Of course, after the Face Shrine I’ve still got two more dungeons to go through…

I don’t consider an internet browser or Netflix or any other movie viewing application as necessities for a video game console to be successful or entertaining.
 
And do you really think no internet browser is gonna make Switch sales suck? Do gamers prefer consoles with internet browsers? Is that an actual statistical fact? Because preorders sold out in just a few days after they opened.
 
Don’t take this as an offense but I feel like you’re underrating the Nintendo Switch.

Huh, only started my new Link’s Awakening DX file yesterday and I’ve already gotten through Angler’s Tunnel, gone through the Color Dungeon (I chose the Blue Clothes for extra defense), AND obtained the Bow (without stealing it!).

I know that, that’s why I’m reluctant with the Switch, I wanna see how it fares.  
And to be fair, while WiiU’s console sales were terrible even compared to every other Nintendo system, it had impressive software sales, (the opposite problem most failed systems have) so it wasn’t a complete failure.
 

 
Didn’t hurt 3DS, PS4 & X-Box One. (Rather confusing name as it makes it sound like a remake of the first X-Box.)  
It probably hurt WiiU though, as gamers probably assumed it was another “casual-gaming” focused system, which ironically it wasn’t, so it turned off casual Wii fans too.

Actually, third-party support was strong when WiiU first came out, much like the Switch now.
 

 
I doubt it, seeing as supposedly Nintendo has enough cash to survive many systems failng, and 3DS has actually outsold PS4, so they aren’t completely failing. (Not to mention, products like the “NES Classic Edition” are doing insanely well.)  
Plus I hear the Mobile phone Nintendo games aren’t even made 100% by Nintendo, and they’re being made to expand their brands. Not replace them.  
Honestly, “Super Mario Run” while entertaining, is no replacement for a REAL Mario game. I feel Mobile gaming while good for short bursts isn’t a replacement for more complex gaming. I prefer gaming on the TV, or on my 3DS.

The thing with the WiiU is it didn’t sell well.  
First the name:Okay what if we take the last system and name it after our last system.  
second:There will be games still coming out for the console even after the Switch is out.  
third:The third party left the console when the Xbone and PS4 came out.  
fourth:If the switch fails they will be moving to mobile.

Isn’t that what it’s already going to cost? I know, just honestly I’m not very excited about the Switch. (Especially, ‘cause once it comes out, bye bye WiiU games & accessories in stores. I hope WiiU still gets some VC games though before it dies completely, as WiiU’s VC has been on a role recently with good games like “Harvest Moon 64.”)
 
I mean not every game system needs Netflix, and such, (heck, I defended the GameCube back when people were bashing it for not having an expensive DVD player in it which was trendy for rival consoles) but after Wii, 3DS, and WiiU they were kinda nice to have.  
Plus the internet browser would’ve been nice to look up stuff while gaming. So honestly with the Switch it feels like a downgrade, and will definitely hurt sales of the system.
 
I might get one some day, as some games (Arms, Super Mario Odyssey, Bomberman, Sonic Mania, Freedom Planet 2, heck I might even give “Skyrim” a shot) look nice, but honestly the Switch is one of the first Nintendo systems I’m not very excited about. I just can’t find any reason to be oddly. Especially, ‘cause I’m worried it’ll die quickly, and lose consumer & third-party development support like WiiU did.
 
I hear rumors a successor to 3DS might be in development, I’d probably be more excited for that even if it’s just another more powerful 3DS.

If it was a literal tablet, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t cost a mere $300. And Nintendo stated they didn’t want to build a tablet.
 
Also, you do know the console comes with a portable charger, right?

No video streaming aps, no internet browser, no backwards compatibility with previous games/consoles/controllers, no Miiverse, no video chat, no more free internet games, and such honestly don’t seem like “improvements” over WiiU to me.  
Plus the 6-hour battery life in portable mode, make it seem less portable then the 3DS honestly to me.
 
Honestly, aside from a few cool looking games, I’m not very excited for Switch. Guess I’ll have to wait and see what it has to offer in the future, assuming Nintendo & third-parties don’t abandon it after 3 years…

I suppose they did look more atmospheric, and they kinda helped with his transformation animation especially.
 
Blue piggie Ganon finally does return in “Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo.” I got him from my 8-bit Link Amiibo.

Well, I’ll be sure to give you guys a review of the Switch after I’ve played with it for a day.

Also, you guys do know that Breath of the Wild is the last game for the Wii U, right? I’m not bashing on your tastes of consoles.
 
I mean, I have been checking the news on everything related to the Nintendo Switch, and I can tell it is gonna be a huge improvement over the Wii U.
