saw the new tyt episode and it makes me wonder if the tyt writers are combing fimfiction for ideas because it feels like the funhouse mirrors came from one of my own fanfics (not gonna link because lewd). also where is funhouse?
And what, specifically, is preventing G5 from being a sequel to G4?.
That’s not true. We saw Spike. It’s been five generations and characters only live so long. Plus, the other kingdoms are physically far away from Equestria.

You should know him by now that he has a strange, bizarre tendency to overexplain things that aren’t even 100% true. TYT would probably debunk his entire novel’s worth of comments in one fell swoop.

I feel that goes to another person but I’ll give DF that, he’s less hostile sounding than that guy. That or it helps that he doesn’t draw those comics that look like polly cartoons from newspapers or that he picks the itty bitty and perhaps non-existent reason that makes whichever episode of g4 sound like the Velma show.

You have to do a bit of detective work, but the G4 fandom used to love doing that. Specifically, you need to cross-reference Sunny’s version of events in The Traditional Unicorn Sleepover, Misty’s version of events, Twilight’s message in Growing Pains, and Spike’s story in The Isle of Scaly. The timeline is:
- Twilight rules peacefully for many moons (Spike’s story)
- Opaline gets banished from the alicorn homeland (Spike’s story)
- Opaline tries to steal all the magic in Equestria (Twilight’s recording, Spike’s story)
- Opaline is defeated, stripped of her magic, and banished from Equestria (Spike’s story, Misty’s story)
- Twilight creates the Invisi-Bubble to keep Opaline out, and from spying on Equestria (Misty’s story, Spike’s story)
- Twilight places the magic into The Unity Crystals for safekeeping. Opaline doesn’t know about the crystals at this point, so we can conclude that they were created after The Invisi-Bubble was created. (Twilight’s recording, Sunny’s story, Spike’s story)
- The dragons go into hiding so that Opaline can’t regain her power by stealing theirs (Spike’s story)
- The accident happens, and the tribes split up (Sunny’s story)
We don’t know where Twilight is, but we know what her legacy is. We know that Pris-Beam is the name of the magic stored in the crystals. As far as I know, there’s nothing to suggest that Opaline can’t leave her castle. The Crystals are never described as “something that’s always existed”.@CloudMistDragon
Like you said, it’s okay to recognize flaws in something you like. But that involves opinions more complex than a binary “good” or “bad”, and he seems to have a hard time with those.

He’s just putting it simply that g4 is a bad show. And I don’t blame him or him.Or he could just be putting it simply that G4 has flaws that G5 has improved. Criticizing what you love is not the same as saying it’s bad.Personally, I don’t really feel G5 improved on G4’s flaws, though they didn’t make it worse.
