Edit: Right, I’m sorry, that was rude of me, but is there a way that we can have all favorited ai images be automatically favorited on Tantabus so we won’t have to waste time searching and rebuilding our Favorites on Tantabus?
Edit 2: I agree w/ AI not being art btw. It’s just a tool, not a crutch.

Derpibooru has chosen to not support those who “create” AI generated images. I heartily applaud their decision. This has to do with supporting real artists, not those who use ai to do all the work for them. The latter can consist of pretty much anyone who feels like screwing around with the software. Don’t EVER make the mistake of thinking that you are an artist because you can make pictures using AI computer software. It’s like thinking you’re a perfect singer after using autotune. Anyone can use both - zero barrier to entry. Some AI art is beautiful, but I definitely will NOT miss it! As far as YOU Derpibooru, I loves ya!!

My biggest concern is the massive DNP list that is sure to follow.
AI slop posters DNPing themselves? Cool. Hope they don’t let the door hit ’em on the way out.
Real artists rescinding their DNPs because AI slop is going away? Even better!
I see no downsides here.

Worked like a charm. The only thing I’d add is that TamperMonkey is available for Firefox as well and that Tampermonkey may freeze the script while it asks you to give it permission to access another website in another tab

I’m hoping some more sites follow suit, and that extra cherry on top for the trending excluding what’s left is very nice.
AI works are fun and all, I don’t have much beef with them aside from them being mostly low-quality and massively clogging up areas that should have real artists on the forefront, but that beef ended up being a whole herd of cattle this past year.
Glad to see AI assistance/ref/etc is still allowed as well, I genuinely love seeing artists build off of it like the tool it should be.

This kind of nit-pickery is why I’m hoping the ai-composition tag is much more restrictive than people are imagining, so we don’t get a continued flood of “ai-but-good-this-time” pictures.
If there is to be a separate ai site, let it be the home for ai pictures definitively.

Just to get a reply from someone with a staff chevron:
Please don’t report things that will be automagically deleted after January 6 2025.
We are closing preemptive takedown requests (not that takedown requests for ai generated images were ever valid in any case) and are already watching for people changing tags. So right now reports for those kinds of things which will be automagically removed from the site are not helpful.
On the other hand, if you see images that don’t qualify for ai generated here because of quality issues, like images with ghost signatures or abhorrent ai generated anatomy, please do report those. We can then delete them both here and also forward them to the Tantabus staff for deletion there as well.
If they don’t meet the quality requirements for ai generated this site, they certainly won’t be ok there either.

Guess I’m still traumatized over my gallery vanishing.
That has nothing to do with artist DNPs. If you want to follow people making what here were tagged as ai generated images, please make a new profile on Tantabus.ai.

Is there a separate thread for the migration script so debugging and help requests for that don’t get buried here? If not, should I make one?
Here is fine, it is certainly on topic. But if you’d like to make a new thread for that script please talk with stsyn - it makes more sense for them to own that thread.

After the ai images are deleted from derpi, will there be redirect put in place so the old links still work and will go to tantabus instead?
There is currently no plan to do so. What you are proposing is non-trivial and presents several challenges that are beyond the scope of this thread. If you’d like to propose a new feature, please present your use cases in the Feature Suggestion thread.
