I’ve given up completely on any type of artistic endeavor. Thought it would be cool to be a writer, but with everyone wanting to be a writer and so few people willing to proof-read and give criticism, it’s just not worth it. I’m gonna try to finish up two, maybe four stories I have on the block before the series ends then I’m done.
 
Anyways, keep up your work. You’ve got some awesome talent.

Alright, I’m trying the skeleton shit again, but I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing.

I’d say 5 or 6. Don’t really have much confidence in my art.

My college art classes were a real trip; we had to draw nude models on regular occasion. It was just about as awkward as you think it’d be. I actually learned quite a bit about how to “see” real life and transfer it onto paper.

I started the ‘SFW Artists Group Chat Thread’ originally because I kept conversing with a few other artists here whenever they uploaded something new. Offering advice, sharing ideas, bit of banter. It was good. But, the mods said ‘take it to the forums’. So, I did.
 
That thread, and it’s NSFW twin, are great for advice, encouragement, (a bit less for ideas). But it’s worth a look. I keep a pretty close eye on the thread.
 
If you want help, that’s probably the best place to ask on the website at the moment.

I don’t think it’s a matter of not “I am not able” but “I don’t want to”. I can be wrong tho. No offense.  
By my expierience I can say you don’t have to study stupid skeletons and stuff like that. All needed is drawing, drawing and keep drawing.  
Who am I… A fetish kind of artist but I haven’t done any of the stupid things I don’t like but just drew and I see a progress.

“Art class” never really taught me how to draw. They’re just always classes about studying the history of art (which, as you expect, goes as well as any other history class) and copying the work of the artists mentioned; the only non-copying assignments were the self portraits (<s>Perfect for kids with social anxiety!</s>).
 
tl;dr The factory-model education system says it encourages creativity, but it’s not fooling me, and now I’m stuck not even able to do simple shit like circles (or rather, vintage doll heads) or skeletons for anatomy; not even with a ruler.

Put in simple terms, as an artist you’ll always be more critical of your own work.
 
It’s rare that I’m happy with my own artwork. There’s ALWAYS something that gets on my nerves.

Nose is too small and the chin’s waaay too long. And it bugs me.
 
As for a grade of 1-10?
 
Still reckon around 5.5-6 out of 10.

Okay, I guess I need to go further…
 
You know, I didn’t know how to draw since always, when I was approximately 11 years old, I was considering to leave art because I felt that I was going nowhere, it was just drawing just for drawing. If I would have stopped, I wouldn’t have known a lot of people, I wouldn’t had achieved the place where I am and that I still need to go through; funny to say, but my life and expectations would have been completely different.
 
After I found out MLP, my desires started to grow again and since then I have never stopped again.

And no, I don’t use expensive professional programs, because I saw that sometimes you feel that without those you can’t do the best things. I use Paint Tool Sai, which is possible to find free and it’s from 2005.

I can’t draw anything either. I can almost draw circles, but I always overshoot when trying to close them and they’re not even remotely actual circles. I guess I have some sort of expressional dyspraxia…

I can’t even draw a proper circle because of my “fine motor skills,” and every single fucking pony drawing tutorial requires drawing fucking circles! Ovals are even harder for my microscopic brain to draw because there are literally no fucking measurement tools for them! My failure to do the bubbleman or skeleton methods results in awkward-as-hell art, such as the one I showed you of Chip and Osha kissing that looks like it was out of a poorly-drawn pony reskin of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It also showed that I’m shit at drawing fluff, and my ponies will never be cute.
 
Seems like the only shit I can do with my severely limited abilities is tracing other people’s artwork, which violates copyright and is frowned upon on Derpibooru. Might as well just quit before I get hit with another fucking Drawponies, Toxic-Mario, or Sodiav scandal that I can’t get through my thick skull.

Sigh; Paci, I honestly think that the art that you are doing looks quite nice for being done in MS Paint, look for example how complicated is the mane of Beauty Cheat and you achieved it very well, preserving also a sense of proportions in the face.
 
Most of artists will tend to look at their art more negatively than the rest will do, that’s because we have expectations that sometimes aren’t reached, and you know what? That sensation, that feeling of wanting more and not being satisfied with your current product is what impulses us to improvement, otherwise we would be stuck. Remember: we can be also our worst judge.
 
You can choose to stop now, to not to improve and losing a lot of valuable time, or to keep going despite everything and be ‘brave’, leading to to path of improvement. It’s your choice.
 
I don’t know if these words has any meaning to you but please, don’t stop, you really seemed quite excited for your project…

People say my art is “cute,” but my art is shitart imo. I can’t even do shit as simple as the skeleton or bubbleman techniques.
 
And to think I was confident in my art a week ago.
