The “Please confirm you are not a robot” prompts are getting more and more frequent and aggressive every day.It wouldn’t be so bad if the system remembered the original request and resumed it afterwards. But clicking that button only redirects you to the front page.It’s really annoying to do a dozen tag edits on an image and hit Save, only for the whole tag editor to be replaced with “Please confirm you are not a robot” and a button. It does not matter what you do at that point, because your edits have been forgotten and wiped away, you have to reload the page and re-do them.Are you guys sure this is how they should work?
I had a bit of a rant typed up about this, but every point I wanted to hit was already covered here. I’ve been encountering it a lot lately and am annoyed, including just now while tagging. I assume there’s a good reason for these prompts, but has anyone looked further into better alternatives to this system in the last 7 months?

Yeah - some of those, like Andy Price is a great example of how we try to document the various online galleries of artists who don’t have profiles here. Keeping them updated is much slower and not as good as with artists actually here, but we do try to update them whenever we have to edit the tags for some reason, like aliasing into newer names.

Artist links in the description is not something I’ve encountered more than once or twice. Maybe we’ll have a better system in the future that allows users to add them to a tag.

I usually add a link in the long description, when I find them or due to working on aliases and stuff like that. But I never do unless I know that it’s one of the artists own profiles or galleries.

Not a mod, but:
There’s a difference between having a URL verified to a Derpibooru account, and having a link in the description of an artist tag. Although AFAIK only an artist can set up a verified link, that’s not needed to have a link listed in a tag’s description as evidenced by many times that I’ve posted in the “Request artist tag aliases here” thread and the relevant links got added to the tag description.

Well, I would expect at least that they’d be tagged advertisement, which I see the uploader/artist has not been doing - in all cases, it was tagged by someone else.
(FWIW, I’ve reported and re-reported that artist/uploader at least 5 times for bad tagging over the years)

Is there a site policy for images that are basically advertizement with barely any image content?

Tiny fragment of a page, and judging by the description, these are explicitly posted to advertize artist’s discord server.
I get it, artists need to build their communities somehow… but the image-to-ad ratio is getting ridiculous here.

General case is to assume they mean in the “repost as your own work / without credit or link” sense, which is how the term originally spread on DA well over a decade ago.

I sorta just wanna upload this anyway and not be too focused on this stuff. Other people have done things like this before, and with little to no problem from it.
