Sadly, not always tagged. So there’s not many pics under the tag. But that would be the tag to look out for/put on those types of images.

Does anyone know what tag is for that “dark magic eyes” like these >>1493684 >>1520076 >>1522152? If there’s none, would it be ok to tag them as “dark magic eyes”?
 
Edit: Can’t simply search through dark magic due to instances such as >>1509111, nor can I use glowing eyes due to cases like >>1448299.

Thank you. I think this is where a lot of my frustration comes from when people (either intentionally or unintentionally) decry meme tags. Of course, some meme tags are just tautologically the name of the meme, such as ayy lmao, and are fine so long as they’re relevant. The issue is when the tag name itself is a meme independent of the content. There aren’t any good examples on Derpi, but on Imgur the eat what you want tag ends up on any post that involves eating, food, and sometimes nothing at all - it’s just another place to put jokes. At that point it’s hurting both the usability and credibility of the tagging system.
 
I do think a happy medium exists, where a tag has a rigid definition but a name that’s idiosyncratic. Something that says, “this is just what we call it on Derpibooru, and when you see that you know it’s Derpibooru,” such as not salmon. That can lead to a sort of symbiotic thing with the subject matter, where memetic mutation happens by way of the images themselves, bringing about new tags like maybe salmon and actually salmon for once because some dork drew not-salmon-ish content but put fish in it on purpose.

Alright and it doesn’t reference the episode, as these pics existed before Fame and Misfortune aired (as evidence by the date they were uploaded on Pixiv, which I personally checked).

Well they certainly look like foalcon, so I’d say the tag fits.
 
As for the spoiler tags, Since the character existed before the episode, I don’t think they need the episode tags. Unless they directly reference it~

I asked it mainly because there are a few other pics the artist has done of her that were uploaded before these were that weren’t tagged as such, so it kind of feels a little confusing to see a dissonance between them and these.

It certainly looks like foalcon to me, and I think it’s probably better to tag it as such just to avoid upsetting the people who don’t want to see foalcon.

So, I’d like to ask a little question, should the pictures that were done by artist:monon0 uploaded during Fame and Misfortune of Toola Roola from G3.5 really be tagged as foalcon and as spoilers for that episode?

Yeah, especially with an internal view of the penis where you can actually see that it takes up 3/4ths of the woman’s interior torso space leaving no room for internal organs. When I see that I wonder if the artist really doesn’t understand actual internal vaginal anatomy or if it’s just exaggerated for fetish’s sake. I assume the latter and hope it’s true.

Well there are some natural, and fake breasts in real life that get ridiculously large. Like three times the size of their own head, or something like that. So they are technical correct in that argument. Still, I think I even requested at some point to change it to “ridiculously large” because that is what they mean. Thought, the line between huge and impossibly large is pretty vague as it is already.

Back in the day, as in PB era, the tag was first used for the sort of breast size you’d only see in specialized / fetish porn. Over time it warped into “anything larger than an A cup”. All because of people tripping over themselves to go “LOL BOOBIES XD !!”. Meme tags are great when they describe a meme, not when the tag is a meme.

Yeah. There’s many warped views of breasts.  
Such as breasts where each one is as big as the woman’s torso have been argued to not be “impossibly large” because “There’s at least one person who did have breasts that big. So it’s not impossible”  
Yes. I’ve seen that exact argument.
 
Same with penises. I mean, when you actually look at the sizes people put on these ponies. The dang things should be piercing the girl’s lungs with how long it is. Not to mention being nearly as thick as a leg~

In a related subject, "Delicious Flat Chest" is also massively misused. Apparently the overexposure to some people of artwork featuring characters with size GGGG breasts have led them to believe anything below 64DDs are “flat.”
 
Every time I see an image with something like 32B cups tagged with it, I strip it immediately.

No it didn’t, as no one actually searched with that tag. It was just aliased and never killed and for some reason, some people assumed that meant the tag meant something when it didn’t.

Well it would be easier for people to search for the plushie beanie, since having the two aliased would have caused problems, since they would keep getting images with the hat instead of the plushie.

Still don’t feel that was necessary to separate as the reason the tag beanie (plushie) was aliased into beanie wasn’t because I somehow magically assumed plushie beanies were more searched, but that it felt pointless to make a special (plushie) tag for something that was rare/never going to cross over into each-other anyway.
 
But it’s too late now as Zeb did it anyway.

They do have some utility. The pun/compound tags were kept specifically because they specify which character has the tagged attribute. Although I will concede that the [Busty X] tags are woefully misapplied and subject to endless interpretation. (And I’m thoroughly amused that the corresponding flat-chested pun tags remain in the wild.)

It’s not just you. Those tags were created for the “fun” factor, but it got out of hand as two camps of taggers got involved - one who treated them as joke tags and went out of their way to make a pun for every character, and the other that treated them as utility tags and wanted them to be more clearly defined and easier to use. In the end, the need for a more conservative approach to the tags (I don’t think anyone disagreed that the tags were being misapplied and there was no way to keep track of them) caused the utilitarian group to win out. I think they went too far in making the standard alias the visible one without really addressing why one-off characters were getting pun tags, and so all of these tags became redundant with no redeeming features.
 
But that’s just my take on it.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve noticed a significant decrease in the usage of the [Busty X] and [Futa X] tags since the pun tags were alias into the current boring ones. I find myself adding them to most new images (where they belong of course), while I seem to remember that the pun tags were added to most images by the uploaders.

Well the other one I pointed out was from the same artist and Spike is the same in both images, so I was pointing out how both are going to be the same case.  
If one is braking the rule then so is the other as he’s drawn the very same way.  
And anyway, it’s just his face in some boobs, and not in a sexual way.

While it’s possible to search using two tags, it really doesn’t seem needed when each could be under it’s own tag.

To answer the question from that thread:

Longer:  
When it comes to that more grayer area of rule 5. “Do they Look underage?” “It’s hard to tell” “The proportions seem…”  
This sort of thing was what made us instigate the harsher rule 5 restrictions last year. Too much time spent going “Does it look close enough to human to be trouble?” “It has the ears. Though the snout is kinda small”
 
Current policy is that if we’re unsure if it looks underage or not, we err on deletion. [Better not able to host a few images than having the entire site shutdown.]  
In terms of those specific Spike images: The deleted one, the obvious size difference between Spike and Ember lead to it seeming like he was a child/early teen.  
The other image, There’s no easily discernible size difference due to the angle of the image. And nothing particularly stood out as being underage.
 
It’s always a tough call with these. We try and err on the side of caution. And if nothing is jumping out to the staff as “Oh yeah, that looks young”, and there’s nothing at the source indicating it’s underage, we’ll allow it.
 
And these choices aren’t done by a single staff member. We throw these up and get at least a few opinions on it.  
[Side note: If you see an image deleted for rule 5 for a bit, then restored. That’s usually what’s happening. Since we’re playing it safe. If we’re unsure, we delete first, discuss it, then restore if deemed safe.]

I agree, I think we should make them separate tags.
 
I think more people identify the word “beanie” with the hat, rather then the plushie.

Should beanie (plushie) stop being aliased with beanie? Searching using “beanie, plushie” gave 187 results, which means the vast majority of the 1025 beanie pics are about the hats instead.
