The whistleblower that’s been missing for the last 3 years that the GQP totally swears had all the evidence needed to take down Hunter Biden has finally been found. Only because they were arrested for being a Chinese spy.
McCarthy says this just makes them more reliable. McCarthy, highest ranked Republican in the country and 3rd in line for the Presidency, bemoans that he couldn’t associate more with the Chinese spy.

Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is holding off on promoting the nominee of the next leader of the Marine Corps after the previous one retired. This means Corps is currently leaderless for the first time in over a century and half. Why? Because he’s big mad at Biden for…reasons. No reason in particular, just reasons.
Tuberville told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “The Source” Monday night that when lawmakers are in the minority party in the Senate, “the only power we have is to put a hold on something.”Asked by Collins whether he knows better than seven former defense secretaries who penned a letter in May arguing the hold was “harming military readiness and risks damaging US national security,” Tuberville said: “They were nominated, they weren’t elected. I was elected to represent the people of Alabama in this country.”“I’m a senator,” Tuberville added, “I can hold any confirmation I want until we get some kind of confirmation of why you’re doing this” from the White House and Pentagon.The Alabama Republican had told CNN’s Manu Raju earlier Monday that he would not back off of his hold, saying he doesn’t buy concerns about the impact on military readiness “whatsoever” and arguing “this is not a risk.”
Smith is one of more than 200 general and flag officers whose nominations are currently stalled in the Senate due to a hold led by Tuberville over his protest of the new Pentagon reproductive health policies.Defense officials expect more than 600 senior officers to be up for nomination by the end of the year.

I’ll give them credit when credit is due.
And in regards to student debt relief, credit is due to them still not giving up the fight. After the SCOTUS shot down Biden’s last attempt to provide some student debt relief with the HEROES act, his administration is following AOC’s advice and immediately shifted to using the HEA act to provide a different form of it.
Whether they have a Plan C in place for if the GQP blocks this attempt remains to be seen, but hey. Dems are being particularly un-Dem-like right now. Which is a good thing.

I’ve been unsure if the OceanGate sub was worth talking about since it’s more of a politics-adjacent issue. The reason why the refurbished septic tank was a death trap is like, the perfect summation of why and how Capitalism will kill us all, but the actual meat of the story wasn’t political.
But now there’s rats all over the internet and news using the event to force politics into the story. Like how there’s now confirmation that the sub imploded days ago was a distraction for the latest “somethingsomething Hunter Biden!” Or more directly, how Jesse Waters is now claiming “woke” is why a billionaire cut corners and killed a group of millionaires for an ocean joy ride.

Bobo wants to impeach Biden and pulled some procedural shenanigans to force a vote. Thing is there’s many House Republicans against the move, including McCarthy, as it threatens their slim majority. This means it’s unlikely to pass.
Notably even Qaren is against it. But only because she’s pissed that Bobo is being a “copycat” and Qaren wants to be the one to bring down Biden.

Senate Republicans were planning on a full attendence to inconvenience Biden’s cabinet picks, forcing Harris to pointlessly cast a tiebreaker vote anyway. However Senator Tuberville skipped the proceedings to protest for Trump instead, allowing Dems to have an uninconvenienced majority vote anyway. Senate Republicans are reportedly furious that the Biden pick who would’ve gotten through anyways managed to get through without any minor delays.

Mainstream media, from Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, are trying to push a narrative that Biden should reach a deal with Trump to get the latter off the hook instead of, you know, just throwing the book at Trump.

Speaking of, we now have Trump’s unsealed indictments. It’s, uh, quite a read, but the short version is they have several confessions, records and video, of Trump admitting to knowing that the documents were not in fact declassified. That shows clear intent.
As for penalties? All put together he can be looking at a minimum of no time behind bars to a maximum of like 490 years, with a max of 114 years of “supervised release”.
Likewise he’s looking at a maximum fine of $9.5 billion.

Fox News has informed Tucker Carlson that his little premier on Twitter has him in violation of their contract. At best, this means that Fox won’t have to pay Tucker his multimillion dollar severance. At worst even more best, if they win the subsequent lawsuit it means they won’t have to pay the severance and Tucker won’t be able to continue airing on Twitter or elsewhere.

Biden has vetoed the GQP’s attempt to force student loans back onto college students.
This was a critical part of the debt ceiling package conceded by the Democrats, and Biden has reneged on it in favor of keeping his campaign promise to end student debt. Of course, Republicans failed to keep their end of the bargain to get 150 votes in favor of the debt ceiling bill in the first place so onus is on them.
This will likely be challenged by Republicans, again, and appealed up to the SCOTUS for a final ruling. But hey, good on Dark Brandon.

The gates to the White House was rammed by a U-Haul driven by a 19yo Nazi. Not an exaggeration, they found a Nazi flag with him.
He said he planned to kidnap and kill President Biden and “seize power of the government”. More details are to be discovered, hopefully before he’s confirmed as the headline speaker for the next CPAC.

Voters are smart enough to recognize that it’s the Republicans who force government shutdowns et al, but then Fox New and other reich wing media work overtime tricking them into believing the effects of a shutdown or such is because of Democrats.
