My user experience on Derpibooru has devolved so much. I used to be looking at different images, exploring comics or scenery porn. Wonders. Even at times uploading old images from deviantart as well as tagging or adding a description for images that need them.

Now all I do is hang out in the forums to try to think of some witty comment.

What happened to me? I used to be cooler than this.

In this parallel universe, this Celestia and Luna were corrupted by the Pony of Shadows to become Daybreaker, to the point where she doesn’t remember her former self anymore. Regular Luna tries to convert her back regardless, but doesn’t succeed.
As for why Trixie and Tempest are here, it’s because Luna’s powers were stolen by a new villain and she needed to recruit former antagonists for a team.

As a Celestia fan, I’m fine with Daybreaker not being real. A fun ’what if…?”.

The comics seem to indicate that Daybreaker is in fact not merely a nightmare, but could very well exist.
At least, from a Celestia in a parallel universe.

Characters turning evil get fans all horny and in heat. It would be unthinkable if their fantasy turned out to be fake.

I guess people felt like Daybreaker ended up being a missed opportunity to explore Celestia’s dark side.

I don’t understand why people jump to conclusions or overthink things that aren’t true.

I was looking at something on DeviantArt where someone speculated that Daybreaker is real. Others on Reddit have suggested ideas like whether Daybreaker existed before, or if she is merely a manifestation of darker thoughts.

In my opinion, the reality is that:

Daybreaker is just a dream.

She never existed before.

When Celestia said, “You are not real, and you will never exist again!” she meant that Daybreaker wasn’t real; she was just a dream. Daybreaker only appeared in that dream and will never return after Celestia defeats her. In essence, Celestia has overcome her nightmare.

While Daybreaker may be a manifestation of darker thoughts, that doesn’t mean she is an inherent part of Celestia. Instead, she could be seen as intrusive thoughts that manifest as a nightmare due to fear—perhaps stemming from the resurgence of fear after encountering Nightmare Moon in a dream, which then materialized as Daybreaker.

I know some people might disagree, but I think it’s quite clear. Daybreaker was just a nightmare, possibly from Starlight’s, Celestia’s, or both dreams. Celestia overcame her fear, and Daybreaker will never exist again in her dreams or anywhere else.

Another idea I have is that Daybreaker could be a side effect of Celestia having Luna’s cutie mark, but that’s just a random thought. I believe what I wrote above is more likely.

Let it be known it is not an unhealthy obsession with Niko. It is the law of nature.

My statement also applies to those in other fandoms that isn’t MLP so it isn’t like it’s exclusively a brony problem, anime suffers from that all the time

Yeah the fact that canon characters can be anyone’s waifu is both good and problematic since many canon characters, especially the more popular ones like Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer, seem to get shipped with everypony and everyone’s OCs. Of course OC’s aren’t immune to this either. I remember thinking about making a female OC partner for Starless once but that’s almost saying “nopony is good enough for me so I’ll just make my own mare of my dreams”, and I’ve already made one female OC (albeit a genderbend of my ponysona).

Being broad and general here, meaning not naming anyone specifically and please don’t get that idea, but I’ve seen people take the whole self shipping thing way too seriously to the point of attacking others if they see their character shipped with others or if people make jokes about it which is why I’m largely put off by it. I still tolerate it because for the most part it’s harmless and they aren’t hurting anybody, and I’ll admit I have my romantic obsessions with characters I like, but for the most part I’ve never engaged in shipping my dragon character with anyone. It just isn’t my thing in general.

Yeah I tried something like that before (although it was platonic) and shit went horribly wrong. After everything I’ve done, that’s something I should never do again.

Not really but it becomes problematic if you acted like your ships were canon or posted shit like “she’s my waifu not yours” or having to deal with people guilt-tripping you for “cheating” on someone. It took me a while to get comfortable shipping my ponysona with Rara again and even then I’ll have a problem with it again.

Yeah this wouldn’t have been much of a problem if I stuck with one “waifu”.

And what about Celestia?

Perhaps you’re right. As for me, I’m happier with the ship I went with instead of worrying too much about a well-established character, but I’m not one to really knock anyone who chooses ships OC x Canon.

If someone wants to have their oc kissing/fucking a canon character they like then let them, i don;t think it’s hurting anybody

(also this statement applies to fandoms as a whole, not just this one)

It can be alright, but it can also be problematic. I just find it a load off my back to have a mare who I’m known to be the biggest fan of (in the days when she was in the hands of her original owner SourceRabbit, before he basically passed her on to me) as a sweetheart for my OC instead, because I know there’s less competition compared to a rainbow tomboy who is shipped with everypony and everything in the sun

Self shipping with another show Pony is a dangerous game which can be fun once or twice but seems increasingly concerning when you approach a couple dozen.
I love Stygian immensely but I’ve never pretended to be in a fictional relationship with the dude.
