Is Bézier curve an AI? If it is, I’m AI artist then, because I can’t imagine myself drawing without using MS Paint’s curve tool.

Since this thread if for general AI discussion,
I’ve recently watched a video about a man who uses AI as his art medium where he explains his process from start to finish. His vision stays consistent throughout, and he persists with multiple models, inpainting tools, and his own photoshop skills to create a good piece. One picture takes him over 15 hours to finish.

I wanted to share this to reinforce that AI-generated stuff can, indeed, be art, if it’s curated by a human. It also takes a lot of time and effort to produce. I know that low-effort images are annoying, but I feel such a pity when I see people despise AI in all its forms.

I like both stuff but I do find a lot of AI generated stuff is generic due to the same basic prompts multiple people use

ai generated works can be very appealing and impressive, and know that people who get those good results are putting a lot of time and energy into their results. But I think it is important to note that where this site is concerned, we do not treat ai generated works as art.As @The Frowning Pony mentioned though, this would definitely be
ai assisted, which does get treated as art here.

For the purposes of this site, that would definitely fall under “ai assisted”. Here, “ai generated” is meant to be used for images that are almost entirely the result of a prompt with very little iteration or external editing.

But yes, what the video shows is definitely human art, and not very different at all than how many artists, including revered concept artists, have created their work for years; just substituting “other people’s photos and art” with “things prompted from AI”.
Now just wait until people hear about how most concept art (the stuff people drool over on artstation or cgsociety) are overpaints…

There’s an interesting GDC video of a concept art studios art director going over some of the ways things have changed and the various ‘cheats’ used today, It’s actually quite fascinating and I’ve used some of their cheats myself. The whole idea of using the 3d google earth map to just nail a cityscape scene where everything is just instantly perfect and to scale was downright brilliant.

I think the current policy goes too far. Recently my image that had pretty good ratings got deleted, and I suppose it was because a “fake signature” it contained. I haven’t even noticed it when uploading, and I think when the image looks good overall, such a little unimportant detail shouldn’t be a reason to delete it. I understand bad anatomy is a good reason to delete an image, but not something like this. It makes me think about not uploading anything here altogether.
(Sorry that I’m posting this message as well as the AI images anonymously, I have some reasons not to reveal my identity here.)

That’s not necessarily true. If an image is very complex, then one could stare at it for hours without seeing everything. I don’t know the image BP was talking about, but I hesitate to make blanket statements.

Yeah, I know what I need to do to follow the rules. I’m just not sure if I want to follow them, because I don’t think that kind of thing makes the image look any less good.
(According to the announcement on the purplesmart.ai Discord server, the pony model v5 will not generate these fake signatures. It doesn’t say anything about the ability to generate hands correctly though, that would be way more important to me.)
The image is not complex, it’s just that after seeing lots of AI-generated images, I got used to this kind of things to the point of not paying attention to them.

While I’m not privy to the actual reasoning behind the rules, what came to mind about that rule in particular is that one of the drama points I’ve seen surrounding AI generated images is “look it even included a signature, that’s proof it steals art!” and requiring images not have them could be a preventative measure against that.
I don’t think that kind of thing makes the image look any less good.
A signature suggests that someone created the image by hand, which is not true for
ai generated images. Although that’s not rule-breaking here, it certainly can cause confusion or be misleading.More importantly, if the signature on the AI-generated image happens to be similar to a signature of a known artist or designer, it can increase the likelihood of the image being flagged for possible Rule #1 infringement, even if the image itself is different from that artist’s work.
So, if you see a signature on your

For me, it’s not legible enough to be plausibly anyone’s signature. It’s fascinating to me that the lower right of that image has the same party hat.
Is the party hat some sort of logo from the generator? Anyone know what’s causing that?
