Rarity is a great chef.

Considering how nitpicky she gets with details, she probably can tell many flavors and smells apart.

When Marble Pie attended the University of Abyssinia, she tried to take Pinkie’s advice and find a boyfriend. Unfortunately, the stallions at the school were either gay or asexual, and the only other guys that were romantically interested in her were Abyssinians, which she sadly turned down.

The reason she didn’t want to date the cat people was not because her parents were “racist” towards non-pony species, but because her father was severely allergic to cat hair.

Twilight has met multiple original seapony species that ain’t the transformed hippogriffs at some point. They are also subjected to Twilight’s ultimatum of suppressing magic in artifacts. And so are the other races she met. They all have one.

Griffons and hippogriffs comprise their own subclass of birds, Mammalaves. Griffons are of the order Ailuriformes, family Gryphonidae, genus Gryps, species aeluroedes. Hippogriffs are of the order Hippiformes, family Hippogryphidae, genus Aquilequus, species arismonticus.

I did actually do this myself once (though mostly for the Mane Six) - even to the point of creating character profiles for them as natives of that world. (Never quite finished Rarity’s, though - or did Spike or Celestia or anyone. Maybe I should…)

Nah, that’s more of a narrative blunder.
Besides, Merlin advocated for integration rather than segregation in that universe and he was Slytherin, plus some argued Voldemort merely had an easier time recruiting people from his own house by proximity, otherwise he accepted Peter Pettigrew from Gryffindor and Quirrel from Ravenclaw all the same without much of a fuss.

And Snape is actually a potion master for 5 years, only being a dark arts teacher at the sixth year only.

Yes and no. The sorting process doesn’t follo stereotypical “nerd-jock” cliques, it mostly judges people’s values and character.

The basic way the sorting works starts with the question: “What do they value the most?”
But a better way to explain it: “What counts as a tool and what counts as the goal for the person?”

Let’s start with intelligence.
Sunburst always valued the intelligence, reading books and trying to satisfy said thirst. Intelligence and knowledge were the mean, as so he’s a stereotypical Ravenclaw.

But then, what about someone who’s intelligent but their biggest desire is to find a place to fit, hard work and usually go with the flow with a desire for community and peace? They could use said intelligence as a mean to achieve connection and humble aims like Moondancer who could be Hufflepuff.

How about using intelligence to match with cunning? If said person values way more getting achievements and see tangible results more important than just plain intelligence, someone who wants to make a mark or values the idea of leaving a mark on the world even if vicariously and somewhat detached? Starswirl might just ve a high level intelligence Slytherin.

And finally….someone who uses intelligence for self-improvement and to assert values rather than just platitudes. Someone who uses their intelligence because they want to do what others wouldn’t dare, to do what other people would chicken out, use the prudence and scheming associated with smarts to still take risks for the sake of justice? Well that explains Twilight Sparkle perfectly as a Gryffindor.
