Not alone, which is her doing as well. Star Swirl was more or less setting her up as an absolute monarch, but from what we’ve seen Equestria is more or less run as a pretty functional and effective democracy that she arbitrates and oversees.
 
For all the tyrant Celestia memes, she seems to have built up a pretty impressive amount of subtle power, hidden behind a very extravagant public persona that the population are still eating up after a thousand years.

Honestly Celestia could get more credit for that in general. Sure she can’t win a fight, but when it comes to RULING EQUESTRIA (you know, her actual job) she seems to be doing pretty well.
 
Equestria was a shitshow before she came along.

I also feel like Celestia should get a teensy bit of credit in this finale too.
 
It’s mentioned that “There’s less darkness in the realm these days” with places like Manehatten becoming bright beacons of livelihood. THis is directly why the Pony of Shadows couldn’t reach his full strength.
 
Under Tia’s guidance, the realm became prosperous enough to exist like that.

I Don’t Know, man. Except for selling more toys I find them unneccessary.
 
Celestia could have been great for a somewhat foundation. For an epic backstory.
 
There was the chance to give Luna and ESPECIALLY Celestia more weight in importance, lore and backstory.
 
But no, an Egyptian Cleopatra pony, a Bearded Viking pony with a hammer and others are more fitting for this?

That’s the kind of risk some people live with every day. Police? Social Workers? Soldiers? Doctors? When a paramedic is triaging multiple injured casualties, he’s gambling with the possibly someone he gave a low priority to will die, and someone he gave a high priority could never have been saved in the first place. Hell, doctors and scientists have to decide which medical research most deserves their time and funding.
 
Given what they’ve already taken down, it’s not exactly that overconfident to believe they could deal with whatever else was coming out of that portal. Though they didn’t outright say it, the fact that the PoS would be surrounded by fourteen of the greatest heroes of Equestria when it emerged would make me confident they could take him.
 
As a matter of fact, they could! The PoS ran away from their first encounter!

But that bunch of Nazi’s would promptly get flattened by any halfway competent military force. Hell, I’m sure Israel would love showing them how far jet aircraft have come since the Messerschmitt Me 262, and all the Tiger Tanks in the world wouldn’t make a dent on a M1 Abrams.

so Twilight wouldn’t have had any reason to believe that simply pulling six ponies back into their universe of origin would have caused disaster.

Let me refer you back to my Erwin Rommel analogy:
 
Let me put it like this: I have quite the bit of interest in Erwin Rommel, because of how shrewd a tactician he could be, as well as how he treated his prisoners with respect compared to other Nazi officers. If I knew he was sent to Limbo when he died, I’d personally love to be able to talk to him in person if I could bring him back, simply because of how much I could learn.
But if I thought that bringing him back could also end up releasing a load of other Nazis from Limbo, all still hell-bent on world domination… nope, not doing it. Screw how much I could learn, or even how much I could teach him. It’s not worth the risk.

The events of “The Cutie Re-Mark”, as pointed out in the episode, involved time magic, not inter interdimensional travel. If anything, there have been occasions in the past where travel between dimensions occurred with either no side effects or side effects that were handled and contained with relative ease, so Twilight wouldn’t have had any reason to believe that simply pulling six ponies back into their universe of origin would have caused disaster.

Unsticking someone from a time lock is a completely different thing from changing history. That’s like comparing setting a fire with setting someone on fire.
 
In fact it would be weird for Twilight to be against time spells in general, as her idol Star Swirl is a very accomplished Time Mage himself.

I honestly don’t get what your problem is with them. I mean given previous finales have given us wings, mary sues, rainbow barf faeries, magical castle playsets and marriage, the pillars seem so… inoffensive.
