The problem with an Ancap society is that property relations still exist which requires the police to enforce it

How would he be super rich without a government and possibly hundreds, if not thousands of competing businesses? Currently, the super-rich have lots of political connections that keep new competing businesses form forming.

And secondly, how would he amass so many weapons of mass destruction without somebody knowing about it? People would stop doing business with him in a heartbeat, even in an An-Cap society.

Third, how would he expect to use nukes on an opposing local populace without suffering nuclear fallout, possibly ending in his own death?

The extreme left actually is pro gun, Karl Marx for example advocated for arming the poor.

You don’t have to be rich to own a gun, but I’m talking about a huge private army with stuff like Tanks, fighter jets, and nukes. A rich guy could easily buy a massive private army and turn ancapistan into a brutal dictatorship.

I’m probably jumping into stereotypes about the left…or more accurately the extreme left. I, myself, lean left on a few issues: such as free speech, opposing war, and opposing the war on drugs. I lean right mainly on economics, gun ownership, and the role and scope of government.

You don’t have to be super-rich to afford a gun. You could probably pick up a decent Glock handgun for around $500 at most pawn shops. That’s all you need for self defense on the street.

Also, almost everyone follows the Non-Aggression Principle to some degree, already, even without realizing it. As small children, we’re all taught not to hit, kick, steal, etc. That’s basically the NAP right there. The problem lies in government, which basically brainwashes us in their indoctrination camps they like to call “public schools,” that they basically have some exemption from the NAP, which I don’t believe they do, because governments are just people, just like you and me. They don’t have any special powers or abilities, and I don’t believe they have a legitimate right to tell us what to do and to steal from, cage or kill us if we don’t obey.

Well actually, the media mainstream media is not left wing, they’re more neo-liberal than anything. Also I’m left wing and I support gun rights.

The problem with your argument, is that it’s only going to be the richest who can afford a massive army. The poor wouldn’t be able to arm themselves as well as the rich would, and do you really think anyone is actually going to follow the non-aggression principle?

In an An-Cap society: most people would be armed and difficult to subjugate. It’s very hard to subjugate a population that’s armed. That’s why Hitler didn’t invade Switzerland during his conquest of Europe. And that’s why Imperial Japan didn’t invade the mainland USA during World War II. Hell, I’ve even heard there were very few train robberies in the old Wild West because just about everyone had a gun.

If somebody attacked somebody, everyone would just pull out their guns and shoot the aggressor. It happens all the time where gun ownership is well respected. Of course, the media doesn’t report on this because the media is heavily left-wing, and gun ownership is something the left hates.

Also, a question on Anarcho-Capitalism…

What do you think will stop someone with shit tons of money from buying a massive private army and initiating a brutal dictatorship similar to the Congo Free State? Which was private property of King Leopold II and resulted in mass atrocities.

I meant what happened when he whistle blew from his previous employer, the United States National Security Agency.

If you whistleblow from private companies, the worst they can do is fire you. Whistleblow from the government, you get thrown into a cage…or worse.

But these businesses can still kick you out if you’re gay for example, if there’s not any sort of regulation that is. That’s still a form of censorship and people on the right want to allow that.

I don’t think reputational pressure alone will solve that problem.

And plus these private companies can still crack down on whistle blowers, thus avoiding any accountability.

These businesses are totally for profit, no public accountability what so ever.

Not entirely true. Consumers still have some ability to hold businesses accountable by “voting with their wallets,” because businesses have to be accountable to their customers, or else they go bankrupt. For example, if Samsung’s eventual upcoming Galaxy 9 underperformed the Galaxy 8 in any way, I wouldn’t buy it and they’d lose out on $600. I could also tell other people not to buy it and they’d lose out on even more. This concept applies to other businesses, too, you know. Don’t like Hobby Lobby’s religiousness and anti-abortion stance? Don’t shop at Hobby Lobby. Don’t like Walmart’s reputation for underpaying its employees? Don’t shop there, go somewhere else like Target (I know Target isn’t much better than Walmart in terms of their reputation for employee treatment, but I’d still choose Target over Walmart whenever possible.) Don’t like McDonald’s for supposedly putting “pink slime” in their Chicken McNuggets? Don’t eat at McDonald’s. Don’t like Ford? Drive a Chevy, or a Toyota, or whatever from the other dozens of car manufacturers. In my opinion and experience, “voting with your wallet” is much more effective than running to your politicians who will likely just say, “I’m in office for the next 4 years, so I’ll do whatever I want. Fuck you, you gotta put up with me and my shit.”

It annoys me a bit how people like Milo Yiannopoulos and Lauren Southern claim to be champions of free speech, the truth is, is that the right is actually more pro-censorship than the left.

They generally want the private sector to control more parts of society, with no or very little government intervention. They think it’s okay for a business owner to kick someone off of there property for any reason that they see fit, whether it’s because they’re gay, a republican, a catholic, a wiccan, transgender, you name it. This is in fact a form of censorship. That’s why people are so up in arms about net neutrality being taken away, because then cable providers can censor what ever they don’t want you seeing. This is what “free market” policies bring you.

Corporate tyranny is a much bigger threat than government tyranny because the government isn’t ran for profit, and has public accountability. These businesses are totally for profit, no public accountability what so ever.

Now on the subject of say hate speech laws, well, the thing about hate speech is that hate speech is intended to ostracize a certain group of people. So, yeah, while I’m admittedly skeptical of how well hate speech laws would actually work, the concept if anything exists to prevent certain groups of people from being ostracized, thus actually protecting free expression. By allowing hate speech you may be risking vulnerable groups becoming ostracized, resulting in LGBT people or a religious minority for example having to hide who they are, this goes against free expression.

So yeah, this is why I consider the right to actually be pro-censorship despite what the Milo types for example claim.
