So that was why Derpi was so slow for some of my friends lately and not for others.

Those people were unhinged, drawings or not, and need help. If it wasnt MLP, they would have attached in a similar thing to something else. Maybe religion, maybe a sportsteam, etc.  
Again, this is the “video games cause violence” argument. They dont. The same way a picture of aryane doesnt make you gas jews, or porn makes you rape someone.  
If you loose yourself completely in the world of such a thing, its because there already had been unsolved real problems.  
The Catcher in the Rye made nobody into a murderer either. Humans channeling their actual issues through their escapism is nothing new.

As the article mentions, the wagon race was just a outlet, not the issue. None of them became murderous rioters because WHOAH WAGON GO ZOOM, GREEN MAKE ME KILL OTHERS VROM VROM.  
And even if you would argue that if pictures callinf for actuall violence on actuall IRL groups could do such a thing, they had been banned anyways before all this, and everyone was okay with that.

Because its illegal, simple as. Otherwise I would say “whatever” too and be against banning it, even if I never want to see that shit, because its cartoon drawings and artists should be allowed to draw whatever they want. Its not real. None of this is real. Drawing someone get murdered doesnt constitute murder, etc.

Just browsed frontpage, someone uploaded a Aryanne and Luftkrieg pic with some made up pride flag that said more or less “Return to your Roots, Return to ||Marec*ck”||or such, and then something like “the LGTBstrassergang”  
So, obviously a shitpost pic that nobody could ever take seriously, and of which there are dozenns uploaded with other ponies each day, but when I tried refreshing it after 2 minutes it was gone.

If they cared about prejudice they would ahve to, for example, ban zebradom off the site too since its basically just “zebras are black people now for no reason other then lol africa has zebras, but huge fucking stereotypes, saying racist shit while doing racist shit” And its racist in all directions.  
But hey, if someone wants to get off on that, thats their thing. After all, one can just filter it. Thats what I would have said two months ago, but as soon as Derpi decided to ban this and that selectively, that doesnt apply anymore. You cant ban stuff on some imaginary moral high ground and then apply double standards.  
If these new rules are because “people are offended” you have to basically delete most of the site anyways, or be a hypocrite.

Man arent you all glad this site decided to become involved in politics for brownie points and split its userbase openly, causing many artists to leave? I sure am glad.  
Seriously just, ban all IRL politics and make this page a site where you keep politics out completely, or go back to where most of the userbase did not give a shit about politics while browsing it, and people from anywhere on the political spectrum would be happy and able to use it.  
Going down this path of “Yeah we will just ban these specific things, even though a good part of our moderation doesnt even like that, but who cares, oh wait we ban this now too withouth proper announcement because of some clickbait article” will just slowly erode the site since nobody can be sure whats going to be allowed to post next day or not.

If they are welcome too, shouldnt they be allowed to draw and upload their stuff too? Anybodys free to hide or downvote it then, but that speech doesnt seem genuine if its about a policy that decides one side can upload stuff and the other cant.

Yes, but what constitutes “quality” in a piece of art? Thats subjective and different from person to person. So, by default, you are judging and giving out likes, dislikes, faves on your subjective opinions. So beeing subjective about what you like and dislike on derpi cant be against the rules as it is the only way to admister these “points” in the first place.

If you cant express you dislike a pic with the dislike button, what is the dislike button for? Quality control is not a answer since art is subjective

How can you “abuse” a vote system? If they are active users, and they dislike, say, rape pics, and they just blanket dislike any picture with rape in it, is it abuse? I would think not, they are using the system exactly as it works.

Pretty much this, you either ban it all or nothing. I would be for nothing, if a pic offends you, just hide the tag. And if a site decides to enact a rule like this thats against what the site was about beforehand, of course it will generate backlash. Justified so.

Sorry, it seems I did. Look, I usually dont post in the forums, because up until now, I never had any issue with Derpi. The moderation team has been helpfull to me before, and thats great.  
I also dont care for dragging politics into my horse escapism in generall, I like to keep them seperated. But right now I see that rather abritrary rules are beeing introduced, and that makes me fear for the sites future.  
Theres tons of content on here I dislike, but I realize others might like it. So, I just use the tags, or give pics a dislike, or whatever, and I dont understand why this should change now. And sadly there is no other thread I can express this in right now.

Its aso at its core a site which gains its very existance from beeing a platform for fandom art of any kind. I understand banning stuff thats illegal, as it threathens the existence of the site, but there is nothing illegal about controversial. Art can be controversial, Hell, most any art on here, even the tamest, is probably controversial to many/most outside the fandom by beeing cartoon horse art drawn by (mostly) adults.  
I dont see why censorship like that should be condoned.
