To be honest, hell would freeze over before the staff starts to believe Discord has enough exposure.
 
Also, what about Nightmare Moon/Luna? Isn’t she technically a villain-turned-good-guy now? In fact, haven’t we seen a bit of Nightmare Moon’s past in the show? Why would she get a comic, but not Discord?

Well, the staff (and me as well, to be fair) see Nightmare Moon as a separate entity from Luna, so it still counts.

Hers is apparently going to take place entirely during her banishment, and some are hoping it clears up things about the Nightmare Force Thingies.

I am only going to check out the Sombra comic though. I know it’s going to suck, but I’m a Sombra fan, I gotta do it, right?

Villain for maybe a day at most, since she wasn’t really doing anything those thousand years in the moon.
 
Man, I never thought about how much that sucks actually. Luna makes her big entrance, after practicing that speech for a week or something, gets her ass kicked and moon-banned in less then a minute, then spends maybe a night at most skulking around a castle before getting beat again.
 
Luna’s stunning lack of competence at this villainy thing leads me to believe Nightmare Moon was more of a hormone induced mood swing then any kind of dark magic fueled transformation.

Well, I like to theorize that Luna was Nightmare Moon for a while, and what we saw in the Season 4 premiere was when Celestia finally found her out.

Whether the issue is going to involve Luna or the Nightmare Forces more, it’s still going to focus on the Season 1 villain/the thing that created the Season 1 villain.
 
Discord, on the other hand, is nowhere be seen so far, despite being one of Season 2’s villains. There’s not even a mention of a possible thing/person that will act as a catalyst for Discord becoming a villain.

These comics don’t matter within the context of the show. I’m sick of IDW taking up all the good ideas and ruining them.

You know, it’s weird, you say that, and like a third of the writers for the comic say that, yet the post above claims they had people from HasB come in to make sure they did fit, which they wouldn’t do if they didn’t matter.
 
Not that the work of this invisible and oft-mentioned group of checkers and balancers ever seems to be felt.

Also, I’m surprised how little I actually want to know Tirek’s story.

Don’t forget the possibility that, even if the stories were well-written, we’ll never be able to see any of it directly referenced on the show.
 
This is honestly one of the reasons why I don’t like this spin-off so far.

I do want to know about the things surrounding him, though. Like his relationship with Discord, where he came from, and his brother.
 
Not much about him though, he was a good villain, but an overall uninteresting character.

I’m only interested in Sombra. Nightmare force were an incredibly stupid concept. Couldn’t care less about Tirek. Chrysalis is less of a cold blooded monster and more of a lucky dumbass. Didn’t we already get a backstory for the sirens?

Katie has Chrysalis and Ted is continuing on destroying EqG with the Sirens. I don’t mind the latter that much.
