bro chill out lmao, you’re one of those people if you rly believe that shit. many people are typically just products of the socioeconomic environments they were brought up in. people might NOT be “knuckle dragging mud monkeys” if they had more of a choice from the start, but tbh that shit sounds eerily close to the dehumanizing “NPC” shit ppl like to meme about nowadays. thats just generalizing without stopping to think about why some people might seem less intelligent instead of simply writing them off as inherently lesser human beings just because they’re not the “smartest” of the human race

All joking aside, I kinda think we as the human race can kinda fit that bill. Yeah, not all of us are chuckle fucks…but damned if most of us are. Truly, that 1/4 carries us, hardcore. It’s how we’ve gotten this far actually, if just barely.
 
Now a days, I would say we’re better then the -1 to all rolls compared to the average in D&D. But that’s really only because we were dragged to this point.
 
There’s a quote somewhere, hell if I can find it, that kinda goes;  
“As the human race, we only progress as our slowest person adapts.”
 
Which is quite true, especially if you look at today’s world. Which I find to be quite humorous overall, if not a bit sad. The smartest people in the world lead us to a brighter future, and they sadly have to force the knuckle dragging, mud monkeys along. Kicking and screaming all the way.

Well, first of all, that goes without saying. Second, that make sense, actually for both seeing as it seems Adventurers or Gods are literally the only people capable of getting anything done in D&D anyway.
 
So in a really fucked up way, yeah, 3/4 of the world’s popular are pretty shit, haha!

I am not the author of these words. 8 is quite literally the baseline for all stats, which by default most regular npcs would have.  
Would that make 3/4 of the worlds population be all incapable?
 
And, of course halfling with 8 dex could happen. Not with standard array, or point buy, but with 3d6 or 4d6.

Really, you would call 8-10 as average in D&D. Huh…I usually consider anything with a bonus of +0 as the baseline “average”. 8-9 is -1. That doesn’t say “average” to me, that says you’re slightly worse at everything related to that stat.
 
And while we’re on the subject, 8 dex on a halfling? That’s like next to impossible…is that possible? I mean if you doing 3d6 roll for stats, maybe, but with point buy that could never happen. Actually a good reason why I hate point buy, but that’s neither here nor there.

At least for humans.  
Halflings with 8 dex are below average

I actually went to look into the Book of Erotic Fantasy;
 
DC 10 for 20min. With a con of 8, at a 2 penalty. Making it a roll of 12 to succeed at the full 20min.
 
Seems like Anon has been in this situation before, hence the low-ball of 15 minutes.
