The last few months on BooruOnRails we started running into more and more problems with aliasing and tagging in general, mostly around indexing and stuff like that. So I’m working backward in time as far as is reasonable to make sure that the aliases worked, and to make sure any that were skipped because “not working” either get done, or the bugs preventing them get documented.

That they share an online gallery is fine, many people work together, but they remain separate artists each with their own unique copyrighted works of art, and we track those copyright holders - not the groups they work with.

Ahh. At least now I get why there was such a delay. I thought this was patched out soon after the Philomena transition (forgot when you posted that here). Glad to see it’s finally been smoothed out and getting worked on again, and that you’re feeling well enough to do so.

Uhm … kind of? A ton of the underlying indexing images were totally fixed, but the “how we do it” stuff was less important than the “what users need” stuff, and so it’s taken awhile to get everything working so we can do it normally again.
 
Unfortunately, the recent and ongoing DDOS attacks have made it hard again. Some of the “Open multiple windows at once” that I do to vet these requests looks exactly like a DDOS, so I have been getting kicked off of the site in the middle of aliasing sometimes.
 
It’s better today, hopefully I can get a bunch done and some changes have happened that might help more in the near future.
 
The feeling well enough has been a problem, too - thanks for your concern :) I’m crawling out of the worse of it though and feeling tons better :)
 
… one thing that we’re still missing though is a way to “See that the aliasing jobs are done”. We used to use Sidekiq to watch for the jobs to start and complete, but that’s Ruby … now we just have to do the math and wait until the numbers match on the search results before starting the next alias. It’s not bad, it just requires a lot of attention.
