I’d say posting a condescending image and telling someone to “Just fucking filter it” for explaining why they don’t like a video counts as yelling. I don’t understand you. Sometimes you’re reasonable and other times you’re like this.

Besides, I agree with him. I watched a few minutes of The Death of Twilight Sparkle and turned it off because it’s a crudely animated shitpost with cruder humor and bad AI voices. Am I not allowed to say that? Am I not allowed to express a negative opinion? In the unpopular opinion thread of all places?

So that makes it about I think 5 people who aren’t affected by a really short-lived bottle of lightning.

its pretty messed up to call out an artist that goes to this site and start using a bunch of vulgarity. They are probably making the art for nothing or fun, or reasons that have nothing to do with anyone here.

What bunch of vulgarity? Me calling the video a shitpost? It emphatically is. It’s deliberately low effort and offensive. “Shitpost” is succinct and accurate. I doubt anyone who makes videos with characters pooping on each other is going to be offended by that term and if they are it’s not my problem.

Tamers is free to make shitpost videos and I’m free to ignore them and give my opinion when it’s relevant. Isn’t freedom great?

That post seemed especially unhelpful. It’s not posted anywhere the artist is likely to see it, doesn’t provide any constructive criticism, and does look like they’re just bitching about and artist on this site in a place where they they know that artist is unlikely to see it.

Ok, great. I don’t know what video you’re talking about, but from the sound of it, I would do the same thing.

Again, I don’t have any idea what video you are talking about. But if you’re referring to one of the artist’s images on this site, please report it if you believe its a shitpost.

And if you just don’t like scat, then please don’t kinkshame others. Just filter it and ignore it. That’s what I do.

I don’t want to speak for the BP, but being that all the images under Tamers’ artist tag were taken from the videos they made, it seems fair to say BP was talking about the videos. Perhaps they did not post their comment on an image by the artist because they knew it would be deleted, but instead came here to this thread where they thought their opinion would be tolerated.

This site’s idea of criticism is so narrow and most users are so thin-skinned, it’s not worth leaving any comment that’s remotely negative most of the time because somebody will bitch about it or a mod will smack you with rule 4 (I remember when it was changed). So congrats, you accomplished what you set out to do.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to step on anybody’s toes. I was under the impression that I could state I was sad I didn’t find a certain artist’s works as appealing as everybody else does in the “unpopular opinion” thread. I am not shaming anybody for liking it, nor am I whining about seeing something filterable.
I outright complimented Tamers’ normal art style and I’m not trying to downplay their obvious talent for large projects, I was simply saying that it isn’t my taste and that I don’t quite get the hype.
I apologize if my original post seemed like I was simply yelling about something I don’t like, of if it seemed i was just shitting on a popular artist for no reason.

@Ciaran, Tamer’s videos are arguably shitposts but also have very high production quality and toe the line between ironic and genuinely breathtaking artistry, so I don’t think any action is needed for his works. The specific video of his I was talking about was “My Little Pony The Movie: The Death Of Twilight Sparkle”, but what I was saying did go for all of Tamers’ works. I apologize again if it seemed like I was bitching about a random artist for no reason, tone can be very difficult for me to get across over text. (Please know this entire post is calm and sincere, and not sarcastic)

No. You’re the one who brought up characters shitting on each other being offensive. If you find it offensive, that’s fine - that’s your call. Also as far as I am aware I don’t think anyone cares what you say about videos on other platforms. We just care what you say about artist’s work on this site. Please don’t test that - you seem to really hate that artist’s work. But if you don’t like their videos, and you’re not talking about the videos here, then it has nothing to do with us.

However, using baseless, unconstructive criticism as a veil for the purpose of insulting or attacking an image and/or an artist is not allowed.

The post I replied to is about that artist’s work on this site. It doesn’t mention the videos you keep talking about.

As I am very sure you already know, if someone is publicly attacking an artist whose work is on this site, we ask them to stop. Sometimes even fucking stop. And when it seems like it might be possible to just post a meme that some might enjoy, we try that. Clearly for you that image is a ‘no fun’ image. It isn’t for me. I guess that’s just personal taste.

Anyway, “horrendous faces, massive butts, gratuitous toilet humor, incest, and usage of slurs” isn’t constructive or helpful. Neither is complaining about “characters pooping on each other” or referring to someone’s work as “deliberately low effort and offensive” shitposts.

If their work is a deliberately low effort and offensive shitpost, report it and we’ll review it. We delete a lot of images like that.

You weren’t really talking about different media tastes. You specifically called out an artist whose work is here on this site. So, it seemed very specific to that one artist.

If you want to talk about different media tastes … well .. there’s lots of examples of people trying that, but it always seems to descend into kink shaming or associating people who DO like that artist’s work with whatever is in the image.

If it helps, think about the fights that start when someone says they like AI, or when they try to talk about whether Vore is good or bad. It gets ugly fast.

But in this case, it was really just that you called out that one specific artist, and included criticism of their work that criticized the theme instead of their handling of the theme, and that was neither helpful nor constructive.

If you’d prefer that I just delete the comment let me know, and I’ll delete my reply as well so it doesn’t call you out.

BGP wrote a very insightful critique where they talk about the strengths and weaknesses of Tamers12345 work, and why the end result doesn’t appeal to them. You actually strawmanned them by reducing their opinion to “I don’t like thing”.

It’s like if someone wrote a review of a donut shop, where they talk about how the donuts are good, but the staff are rude and the decor is tacky, and you came along and said “If you don’t like donuts then don’t go to donut shops”, completely ignoring the points they were making.

Very serious.

Anyway my unpopular oppinnion is that small artists aren’t really public circus performers. I don’t even like the way people talk about popular artist, but I would be some baby eating nazi if I said that right?

If you follow an artist and you think “Oh they are in ‘shitty mode’” Just keep it to yourself, even if its a big artist, its called tact.

That depends if you want acceptance from others and you already know this, but you can still socialize with others while not being upfront about your interests. That and you can say the same for other groups that don’t get a lot of mainstream respect such as furries, cartoon fans, otherkins, cosplayers and anime fans

Honestly I’m with kleptomage and the others, it seems very unprofessional to say something like that on a thread like this where the point is to say an opinion on something. They were just expressing their thoughts like normal and weren’t being rude or extreme about it. It’s like how I can post “I don’t like Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing On Rainbows” for XYZ reasons and just leave it at that without making a big fuss on those who do like it.

Don’t apologize. So far you did nothing wrong. We all complain once a while about things we dislike or hate. Is not like you make a big ruckus about it, and hey, you make a post, we can still choose to politely engage or just keep going with our lives. Things like this often happen, is not a capital sin.

The posters here are in shitty mode and I want to like them so badly, I just don’t. Just my constructive opinion.

Edit: instead of trying to be polite when we cross peoples boundaries or upset someone, we’re clearly trying to push boundaries, and take back apologies.

You know here’s a thing, actually none of us even some of the other mods besides you actually like you as our mod given many has already expressed that you have a tendency to even now shut down people who do give constructive criticism only under the bare bones reasoning of “you don’t sound nice so I’ll give you no dice.” And the point of this site or this forum in particular is that we’re allowed to express it. For all we care, go ahead and lock it down if it really bothers you so much because I’ve been on the site way longer than you came or most of us for that matter and at this point, I’m very used to the infighting and negativity that I’m only neutrally apathetic about it. I’ve seen one guy expressing nothing but hate about g4 but he’s very happy about g5, and you may think, “then why are you here if you don’t like g4 which is why the site started?”. And I don’t see you removing it. Then there’s another who has a former beef with this entire fandom for ruining his rosy outlook and decided to keep attacking us only because of one person who did all that, I don’t see you removing it. And finally, there’s just the general downers here who do nothing but complain, I don’t see you removing it. But after all that, we have no choice because you are our “senior mod”. We know you are weird, and perhaps already despite consulting with the other mods, feel you are very and I’ll put it in the nicest way possible, “restrictive”, so if anything we feel even less safe under you. We respect the other mods for not overdoing on the moderation like you do, stepping in as how Derpyfast put it and I actually respect him despite my own opinions he may not like because ultimately we like the same thing, not the same way. I feel you need a permanent break but either the mods are somehow too scared to remove you, or you feel this site will die and therefore “we need you” and sorry but we need someone better than you. All in all, you were never a great mod you think you are.

Welcome to the unpopular opinion forums. Someone would tell you how it changed their lives forever but thankfully they figured it would be better to start over. Also if you were in any of some previous users place he won’t hesitate to place restrictions on you too if you’re trying to defend him when he’s not doing the same.

Whatever kind of boundary of new precedence on the rules you think you’ll make by attacking the moderation, they question every day if all this vitriolic shit people say is actually worth the 0$ paycheck.

I’m just parroting the same use of language that was being used to criticize artist. I used parallel language specifically to avoid disciplinary action.

When people moderate, there has to be some kind of structure, someone has to come in and lay the precedence agreed upon by all mods even if its not popular. If you see one mod enough times, that’s just because they’re the ones best suited to deal with the bullshit, not because the other mods hate them.

Oh you’re not wrong about that. We don’t have a problem with other mods. But in any case, he’s just doing his job yes? He thinks because he’s the last line of modding when the others don’t chime in first? Because if anything, we prefer it this way. It’s just that he’s steps and in our faces too much. And again, we can’t complain because we can’t. We’re stuck with it. But you know, I’ll give him one compliment, he has a steel will of iron fist. I would simply switch steel with the latter phrase but in any case, I don’t like to drag this, we’re done here. It’s simply human nature to respond to stimuli.
