The endless anon comments about “ackshually g5 isn’t ending, only TYT!!!!!!” are infuriating. Can these people not accept reality? If all of a show’s major media is cancelled and the parent company refuses to say anything about its status, it’s dead. There is no reason to believe otherwise. It’s dead, Jim.

I’ve always been a little annoyed by people saying Maud is like Raven or Daria. Raven and Daria are primarily sarcastic, keeping people at arm’s length with their snark. Maud is a very honest person, just naturally deadpan. Other than their voices not having that much emotion, she’s nothing like those two. Some folks also labeled her as emo, which again, not even close.

Problem is, Hasbro didn’t say G5 is ending, which leads to assumptions.
If they actually said G5 is ending, though, can you imagine how much death threats they would get?

Hasbro didn’t even start referring to generations as generations internally until the start of G5. Do you really think they’ve adopted fandom-specific terminology so thoroughly as to think to announce that in those very specific terms?

Brief vent from me”
I’m so Fucking annoyed with myself that every single year I have to leave UKPonyCon early and have to miss out on the ‘End-Of-Show’ ceremonies and stage photos with the rest of the crew for the con.
Every year, I’m fully on-board with ‘right, This year I’m STAYING til the end! I’m getting more involved this time!’, then it gets to midway through the Sunday and I realise the train times are Fucking abysmal and, if I were to stay til the end and get the later train, I have to rush a 25 minute walk in 10 minutes or else I’m stuck 70 miles from home with no way of getting back easily. The con closes at 6PM on the Sunday and the trains are every hour at xx:15. They DO run late enough for me to get to Birmingham, but then all buses and the train route towards my house have all stopped by the time I get there and I’m still stuck 10 miles from home.
It’s utterly frustrating…

I feel like this fandom vastly overestimates how bad Hasbro is handling the franchise
Yes G5 has been handled rather poorly and has gotten a more mixed reception to FIM,and TYT (and possibly G5 as a whole) bein cancelled early sucks, but people acting like this is the final nail in the coffin for the MLP brand as a whole are making a giant mountain out of a molehill
MLP has been one of Hasbro’s main brands since the very beginning and is one of the most well known girl toylines in history, i don’t think Hasbro will be willing to kill off the whole franchise becuase of one dud generation

MLP has been one of Hasbro’s main brands since the very beginning and is one of the most well known girl toylines in history, i don’t think Hasbro will be willing to kill off the whole franchise becuase of one dud generation.

Given how big it is in China right now, it seems to be a G2 situation, where it’s withdrawn from all but one market. I wonder, if Camp Cutie Mark is real, would it now be China-exclusive?
