If it really only took 100 years for ponies to be segregated, forget about their previous history, and the Mane Six, then that’s just really, really sad on their part. I’d even almost say pathetic.

Remember, she hears her unicorn ancestors constantly - I wouldn’t take her knowledge of G4 stuff as any sort of indication of the length of time passage

Yeah, don’t place any bets. There’s a reason why time is always measured by “moons” in the world of MLP, something deliberately vague.

If the backstory Opaline gave is true then this is another case of Celestia’s actions in the past causing villains to be a problem in the future.

They can’t deny g4 has done this before. It’s an invalid reason to dislike g5 while pretending g4 hasn’t done that too.

Since ponies have phones in G5, do you think they’ll have cars in G6?

They already have trams and smartphones (as opposed to G4 where they didn’t even have radio, which a fic by NCMares portrayed as evil, and Lauren Faust wanted nothing newer than chimneys (which are ~11th or 12th century invention)) so it’s surprising they don’t have cars. Maybe they just don’t need them.

This is logically very improbable that only a hundred years have passed between S9 of G4 and G5, then we are talking about our world history’s worst example of forgetfulness in a fictional universe ever. It is impossible when only a few generations had passed, memory manipulation or not, if the purpose was to clear the ground for a new generation - then centuries must have passed at least. So everything that Twilight, her friends and everyone who had contributed very strongly to creating a better world, should not be labeled as the losers and put G4 in a very bad light. The word “pathetic” will be too small.

Elder Flowen was probably talking about a time when she was very young and when Equestria hadn’t collapsed - that would mean she must have been over a hundred years old. Perhaps, like Starswirl, she had figured out how to age more slowly with the help of magic. For Starswirl was already very old when Celestia and Luna met him, and these had described for posterity that their teacher was able to prolong his life. Probably Starswirl was originally an inhabitant of Ponyland before the windigos destroyed the ponies’ homeland.

In any case, Berrow should have avoided the name “Moondancer” because this creates rampant speculation. She had been remarkably reluctant to allow vehicular technology beyond trailers, streetcars, tricycles and a lone van, and was very keen to stay as low-tech as possible, so that mostly only smartphones were seen. This could not be accepted, hopefully others will immediately take over and make it more correct. It had been revealed that more advanced transport technology was to be shown in TYT, but these were withheld.

Faust wanted the technological level in G4 to be in 1880-1930, and we have seen that the ponies’ technological development is much slower than in our world, from the Discord Arc we could see that the IDW team tried to place the ruins in Canterlot until 1980 -2000 to have a gap against G5, which is in 2010-2023. There was too much cherry-picking in the design of the background in G5, in contrast to G4 - and that is why all “scenery” pictures created on the basis of G5 are so vanishingly small compared to G4. Too plain.

From IDW comics it has been shown that there are car vehicles, but not private cars that we are used to, in G5.

Is Opaline an overhyped villain?

She’s barely hyped at all.

She’s a recurring villain but she’s not really talked up.

in other words: celestia is a very toxic mare, almost all the ponies who had a personal relationship with her became villains, and one of the few ponies who didn’t suffer from this became a friendless recluse, “coincidentally” that poney only maked friends after moved to another city.

I noticed that in Nightmare On Mane Street, while they’re talking about what they’re dressing up as, Sunny doesn’t mention what she’s going to be. Probably cause they didn’t want to say “hippie” for some reason. Also she was cute in that outfit.

Probably because it would prompt an explanation from Sunny about how hippy culture fits into G5’s world, something they might have found awkward to try and write. It’s funnier as a visual gag that speaks for itself anyway.
