If that’s the case, then I can’t say I’m surprised. A lot of companies seem to be acquiescing to the CCP’s demands so as not to lose the Chinese market- I guess Sony’s just the latest to join them.

From what I’ve read, it has nothing to do with China and everything to do with Japan’s own internal CERO rating broad.
 
And it seems to only apply to games directly from inhouse Japanese devs.

It’s very odd because i don’t recall that happening in alot of anime games.
 
Pity for all those who prefer amputees, though.

I think Dragonball is a victim of that, since while Gohan from Trunk’s future is missing an arm, no game afterwards shows that. I think they said the reason had to do with Japan not being a fan of permanent damage or something.

Apparently the latest game finally includes one-armed Future Gohan, which was a big deal.
 
But yeah it got kinda awkward for the last couple decades when, despite Future Gohan’s popularity and occasional inclusion, he’s always shown with two arms. Even though the devs go through the effort of making him only use one arm…he still has two.

The game was about 90% done before Miyamoto asked them to make it about Star Fox.

Some of the stuff with Dinosaur Planet is really cool, I still wish we got the whole thing.  
Honestly kind of surprised Fox was still in the N64 build
 
Best thing I can do now is play that Krystal Mod for SFA on Dolphin

It seems to be a late build. Things were mostly done.
 
BTW, Fox was originally a character called Sabre and he’s still in the game by use of the Disguise spell.

I’m pretty sure the final game is mostly what was planned, just swapped some characters out, removed Randorn, and removed the sections with Krystal and Kite by putting them on buses in the tutorial and replaced them with Fox going there via the Arwing (especially evident on the Galleon. I daresay SFA needs a reboot)

From what I remember, even when it was turned into Starfox, Krystal was still supposed to have a bigger role(there’s loads of cut content and dialogue featuring her)

Finally beat those stupid Defensive Kormars, yeesh…

She was, but rushed development forced them to cut her sections out and relegate her to a damsel in distress.

Capcom Arcade Stadium looks like another cool classic game compilation that I would like to try but goddamn, those prices for each of the arcade packs. Are they really worth those prices?

Not surprised. But I’m having a hard time understanding what you said. Were you trying to say that the increasing roster of characters is the reason why trophies were scrapped?

No, I meant an over-use of characters with similar movesets was the design philosophy that led to us having stickers/spirits rather than trophies.
