From what I heard, the first season of Jobless Reincarnation is relatively normal. It’s just kinda weird the primary focus on the follow-up happens to be the main character being flaccid.

At least with Chainsaw Man, they tie all the weirdness with a story about trying to find your place in society and finding what makes you happy. The weird balance of off the wall insanity and relatability works in the show’s favor. Also, Denji wanting to touch boobs is far less weird than a grown man in a 15-year-old’s body having ED.

reason why I love CSM is also because of the way Fujimoto seems to straddle the line between slapstick violence and tragedy with chracters being relatable only to be manic psychopath selfish unhinged pervert in the next panel

while there are hardcoded emotional moments, they’re few and far in between. but that doesn’t mean tragedies aren’t happening frequently–THEY DO, almost rapid fire in fact. It’s just that the tragedies are infused with comedic timing you can’t help but laugh and cry because you can’t tell if you should laugh or cry.

Does anyone know the anime I’m describing:
a guy who’s a writer travels with group of people(?) and sees the evil of humanity. There’s a episode where a man watches his dead wife’s body decompose and at the end of the episode her spirit is upset with him for not keeping a memory of how she looked when she was alive and watching her body decay and there’s also a episode about a prostitute and her catatonic little sister.

If anyone follows my art, I’ve decided I’m going to un-learn everything and start learning how to make my art look a tad more animesque.

I’ve been saying that so much out of excitement it’s been taking over my head and I keep telling it across various platforms. I should go lie down.

I finally got around to checking out FLCL: Grunge. And I really like the idea of the show. It’s three episodes long, and it all centers around one night with each episode being from a different character’s perspective. The concept of the show is really good.

What kills it ultimately is the pacing.

The original FLCL series had a frenetic pace to it as well. However, that in my opinion worked because I thought it fit within the confines of the world they were trying to create. This feels like the creators trying to replicate the chaos of the original, and it feels forced and manufactured. I applaud the show for trying something unique, and the animation honestly isn’t as bad as I thought it was gonna be, but it just isn’t as good as it could’ve been. Better than Progressive, but not as good as Alternative.

The music is as great as always, of course.

Dumb question: does everyone think of fanservice in anime?

I just been getting multiple videos about how female characters are portrait in anime, and it has been bugging me.

Personally I don’t mind it, especially in series that are targetted as ecchi. However it can get annoying in moments that are meant to be serious.

Again this is just something that I had trouble getting out of my head.

My Tiny Senpai is the most underrated anime of the season. For me, it’s the funniest Summer show this year, even more than Horimiya Piece.

I’ll go to my grave saying that season 3 of Devil Is a Part-Timer was fantastic. I had such a good time watching this show.

I don’t care that it’s not as good as season 1. Or that the animation isn’t as good. Or that such and such is a step down. The writing and the humor is still there. It was there in season 2, and by golly, it’s here as well.

This isn’t a The Promised Neverland situation where the show completely plateaued. You could argue the studio was in over their heads, but that’s about it. I don’t watch this show because of the animation, as excellent as it was in season 1. I watch it because of the humor, the action, and Emi being an excellent tsundere, which she is.

The problem with season 2 wasn’t the baby. In fact, that might’ve been the best part, as it gave us some cute reactions from Emi. The worst part wasn’t even the lackluster animation. It was it felt like it was spinning its wheels. Season 2 suffered the same fate as Shield Hero in that nothing was happening for long stretches of time. Again, the humor was there, but it wasn’t enough of a gutbuster to justify it being plodding.

Season 3, a lot of stuff happens. And it all feels meaningful and important. If it wasn’t for the animation being such a step down– which, again, I equate to the studio being in over their heads– this season might honestly be better than season 1. It’s that good.

It really sucks that people write it off as being like the later seasons of Fairy Tail. Or Kemono Friends season 2, which is another show I feel gets unfairly maligned. This season is a solid 7.5 out of 10, maybe even an 8, because it tries to accentuate the positives and play to the show’s strengths.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is really good

Even from the few episode of have rewatched, I can confidentially say; Gundam Seed is a lot better than Witch of Mercury.

With Seed you can see where the plot is going. G-witch had no plot and was just a high school with mechs on the side.

If I may; Why is that so important and in many cases all other aspects of criticism should/is ignored? If only there was a word to describe it… Spoiler: It’s called defection.

Also; Bandai said it was “up to interpretation”. And according to well, I’m sure you know some At least with certain things; “The Creators are the final say.” We’re supposed to listen to the creators and Bandai are the creators.

Gee, hope there wasn’t an issue a while ago where the creators were the defacto end all be all. Would make a lot people look silly.

They had better chemistry… For a character without a character You know, just sayin.

Without a doubt, G Witch is better than SEED for me.

I love slice of life high school cute characters doing mundane things and ppl walking way from a fight alive with just their prides hurt. the more ppl making out it alive the better.

I didn’t have any idea where G Witch was going, but every moment of it I enjoyed, because I wanted them to last.

Btw when the author leaves it up to each person to decide then it should validate one interpretation or the next, and if majority calls SuleMio to be a thing, then according to the Author, it could be a thing.

Bob is best boy and ya boy deserves a nice girl. But Suletta ain’t interested in him like that bro, explicitly turned him down, no matter how much chemistry they got. Let platonic best buddies be platonic best buddies.

If there was a Gundam series with cinnamon bun characters where the genocide machine running on cutting edge nuclear tech is used to bake cakes, wash clothes, clean up the ocean from garbage, transport injured animals into shelters and make meme videos it’d be my favorite series even when nothing happens every episode, and the show isn’t going anywhere.
