From what I heard, the first season of Jobless Reincarnation is relatively normal. It's just kinda weird the primary focus on the follow-up happens to be the main character being flaccid.
At least with Chainsaw Man, they tie all the weirdness with a story about trying to find your place in society and finding what makes you happy. The weird balance of off the wall insanity and relatability works in the show's favor. Also, Denji wanting to touch bookbs is far less weird than a grown man in a 15-year-old's body having ED.
