Sweet F.A.
I hate how there aren’t any good Saturday morning cartoons on anymore, and how they were being phased out when I was growing up. If you turn on any of the five major networks, you don’t see good non-educational cartoons for Saturday morning programming; in fact, for the most part, you don’t see any cartoons at all. It’s now just animal documentaries and boring old news.
“Oh, but what about cable or satellite?” My family is poor! We can’t afford that crap. “Oh, but what about streaming?” We live out in the middle of nowhere. Wild Blue holds a monopoly on the internet we get here, and it only allows for 25 gigabytes of upload/download use (this includes streaming) per month. My only option is to go out and watch cartoons using someone else’s internet connection, and can you imagine the weird looks I would get for watching Teen Titans in public? I’m twenty! I’m supposed to be an adult!
And imagine, if you will, me as a kid. It was Saturday morning, time to watch cartoons, time to take a break from the pressures of school after a long week before that and a weekend of homework afterwards. So I turn on the TV, and what is on? Nothing but crappy E/I shows. Dude, I don’t want school to be forcefully inserted into my one escape from school!
