While it’s fine to legitimately debate the pro’s and cons between the two(Manga are generally easy to follow and have more variety, comics art and print quality tend to be higher, just to name a few), this “war” between comics and manga is being waged for entirely superficial and petty reasons(take wild guess which ones), and is probably being pushed by people who don’t give a shit about either medium

Archie has some legit good romance comics out there, so I’d count it.

The comic industry is dominated mainly by Superheroes and little of much else. While Shonen is the most popular, it doesn’t practically define manga

Shounen can be battle Shounen or Sports Shounen and sometimes even Romance Shounen. Kaguya is for example Shounen Romance and completely different from Romance Manga made in Shoujo Magazines

Don’t ask why Viz has it under the Shonen Jump imprint in the U.S., because it baffled me as well.

There’s no specific genre I’m disinterested in, but I’m very picky.

Dunno if I said this before, but I tend to prefer female character designs over male ones nowadays.
