Just got to the Undead Settlement.  
Can Vordt’s soul be used for anything?

A great hammer or a ring. You need to kill Greatwood and give his item to Legless for him to transmute boss souls into items.

Vordt’s great hammer causes frostbite, and the ring apparently gives 30HP with successive attacks.

Yep. I rarely used either personally, though the former is used to cheese some bosses with a frostbite weakness. On a side not, when a torch is in the shop, get it. It’s very useful.

I managed to get through Farron keep, and I’ve gotten to the Boss room with the Abyss Watchers.  
Ngl, this is probably my favourite boss in the franchise.  
Also, one of the two enemies outside dropped dark Knight armour + leggings, are they any good?

Just cleared the Abyss Watchers.  
Now onto the Catacombs.

Soulsborne is a fantastic franchise, I’ve played and beaten Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. I know that Dark Souls II and III are said to not be as good, but I’m still going to play them eventually.

I never believed in Dark Souls or any game for that matter needing an easy mode. Part of a game’s personality is its difficulty, and Hidetaka wasn’t even trying to make the first game difficult just to torture people, but to add to the realism.

One of the reasons I haven’t played too much of the Souls games was because I didn’t own a PS4 until last year. However, I’m gonna be busy this last couple of months, so after finishing a couple of things, I’ll play all the games.

Fuck Halflight, Spear of the Church. I thought Midir was going to be the problem boss.

Unlike Halflight, Midir is actually well designed and fun.

Healing bosses are bad enough. A healer that’s tanky is worst. Two tanky healers is the breaking point for me.
