Season 8 Episode Discussion [Spoilers, possible leaks, rumours etc.]

Do you know what, I didn’t mind this one at all, Aj and Dashie were acting like dickheads but that’s par for the course especially with AJ, and the student 6 were good in this ep and delivered most of the best moments.

I thought this episode was serviceable at best. I didn’t really like how Applejack and Rainbow Dash were portrayed, but as long as the students were there to serve their roles, I’m at least satisfied.

The rare positives I found are the meta nods on how much of a non-issue the episode should be, as thought the writer was forced the plot down their throat and did their best to show that they did what they could with an awful hand that shouldn’t have existed in the first place and of course, the student 6, which got to shine at the expense of everyone else.
 
“So, who’s for getting them both killed? It’s not like the series is gonna get any kinder to them…”
 
And, I’m sorry AJ, but I’m really sick and tired of seeing that prion of yours destroy your IQ to single-digit levels. It’s time to take the poor girl to the back of the barn and put her out of her misery.
 
… but if the goal was to make the transition to an AJ-less G5 easier by making the audience loathe her, I guess good work? Fuck’s sake…

Yeah, I didn’t care for this episode. The only positive is that the jokes were funny.

I have a feeling the students were playing the teachers. They weren’t dumb. They knew what was going on the whole time.

So I’m going to address the elephant in the room. Racist asshole or not, Neighsay was like 100% right about the irresponsible teachers endangering ponies thing. Because WOW :/

Not only were RD and AJ were being assholes, but they would have caused the school to close down.

I’ll probably watch this one just to see if the Student 6 get any good bits.

Honestly, it feels at this point the people who think this episode is bad are just saying it for the sake of saying it. I really don’t see how it is a bad episode. It’s basically an average MLP episode. And yeah, saying this probably pisses people off, but whatever. Outside of the drowning, this episode is your average MLP episode.

I can say not many people were looking forward to this episode. The stream I was in was almost empty. Last week with the Starburst episode, I could barely type anything in the chat window because of the spam and lag.

I agree. It’s not the best nor the worst episode of season 8. Title of the latter goes to either Maud Couple or Fake it Til you Make it, if you ask me. THIS week’s episode is decent.
