Now that I think about it, that’s probably why this episode feels a bit off to me, that they treat Sugar Belle getting into a relationship like a goal and not two ponies coming together, she’s more a McGuffin for the story than an actual character

Now can fluttermac finally die? i never understood why it existed, at least cherimac has some canon base.
 
Fluttermac was born of fans shipping a quiet guy with the shy mare and because back then the show barely had any significant male characters: you had Doctor Hooves (who was insta shipped with Derpy and Rose) and Mr. Cake, who was married and so unavailable.
 
I don’t know what to think about this canon ship. It’s Ok I guess, but coming out from nowhere with all the buildup literally happening offscreen definitely made it tough to like.

I loved it. This is the first episode that, I think, shows little girls how crushes look like from the boy’s perspective causing them to do crazy annoying shit to girls.
 
I also like how Big Mac won over the girl. His strength is he’s a good listener and he used that to his advantage. There’s also clear intention of courtship unlike Spike’s crush on Rarity where Spike himself prefers Rarity as a friend, ultimately friend zoning her instead of the other way around.
 
I felt a little sorry for the CheerMac fans as how it was addressed. They mentioned the love poison but didn’t mention anything about Cheer and Mac just being good friends.
 
At first I didn’t like Feather Bangs but when he revealed he only hides his insecurities behind his “Flash”-iness, I kinda started to like him. He voiced by the same dude that voices Flash Sentry.
 
The song parts were intentionally made cringey but this proves MLP FiM will make romantic interests centered episodes if they can make a story out of it.
 
I liked it. It was sweet. BM and Sugar Belle got a happy ending. Also, cameo with Party Favor and Night Glider sharing a table.

Well it’s a nice ship I guess. Hopefully we’ll see more of it and get more development for Sugar Belle. Maybe a Sugar Belle Applejack episode where Applejack has to learn to let go of Big Mac and realize her family will grow apart but always be connected? That would be a good message

So was the whole “Shimmering librarian with a secret past” suppose to be a reference to Sunset Shimmer.
 
Also why did they use the three swooning girl from Beauty and the Beast as Justin Beiber’s entourage?

You know when Big Mac was describing Sugar Belle, it would have been nice to SEE that, cause this is her major appearance since the Cutie Map. Actually it would have been nice to have Sugar Belle be more developed instead of simply being the goal Big Mac and the CMC are trying to “get” to.
 
I actually didn’t get the vibe that Sugar Belle was under developed or that she was a goal for Big Mac. From the start of the episode, it was clear she was kind of in to him too.
 
Some of my friends that are girls actually like it when guys fight over them. They love the attention. Sugar Belle was one of those girls that just has no time of day for dumb nonsense like that. At least that’s the vibe I got out of her. You treat her like a “real” lady, not a fairy tale princess.
