Season 6 Episode Discussion [Speculation/Theories/Beware of Spoilers]

Maybe the rock can be programmed? Maybe ancient Changelings forged the rock with their magic, and that’s why changelings are immune to its power. We don’t know. But we also don’t know if Chrysalis could’ve used it anywhere other than as part of her throne, and given how breaking the throne apart seemed to dispel its power, it seems like carrying fragments of it around might not work.

Honestly, I saw it more like Discord was Liam Neeson in those “Taken” movies.

Yes but it never states it has to be in the shape of a throne. Why does it have to be a throne? True it’s carved from it but why a throne?

That’s another thing. How exactly does love break the throne or heck sharing it? I’m guessing only changeling magic can destroy it but again they never ever explain what changeling magic is. It seems just way too convient of a plot device that just there to get rid of the op magic casters.

I’m going to ignore how pointless it is to make at the outset, and ask if you have any reasoning to explain it with.

That was a really great finale. Felt amazing to actually have a GOOD two parter after The Cutie Remark and The Crystalling. I do agree that the ending wasn’t really that good with the OC changelings, but everything else leading up to that was great. The fake out reformation with Chrysalis had me in stitches. I believe that was an apology on Haber’s part.

Yeah, but Discord was never explained either. Nor were the elements of harmony. This throne, and changeling magic in general, are just more aspects of magic in this world. This changeling magic is like a syphon. Draining force from others.

Still, think they should have added somebody laidback to the group. But a great episode.

The Queen lives on.

What? The elements of harmony while not perfectly explained had at least a sensible explanation to them. They were artifacts which were tied to people who best represent their concepts.
 
Discord is a high tier reality warper whose entire basis is chaos magic. He magic is completely limited by chaos and he can’t really do anything that’s not chaotic.
 
The throne is just lol only changeling magic works.

Well, the season’s over and this thread is coming to an eventual close sooner than later.
 
I wish I could say more, but I’m currently reeling from a sudden tragic death of a beloved dog. :(
 
Anyone have any final thoughts about the season as a whole?

“What a mess.”

It had a mediocre start and a grand finale, but overall is just a single step up from season 3, while every-other season is at least 3 steps. Hope they do even more with starlight then they did here.

Where was that about Discord ever said? He can do near ANYTHING. Not just chaotic stuff. He’s never really failed at anything because of his magic being “limited”.
 
What we know of the throne is this.
 
“Chrysalis’ throne is carved from an ancient dark stone that soaks up outside magic the same way changelings soak up love.”
 
That “the same way” seems to imply to me that the stone is connected to the changelings, which would explain why they’re immune to its power.

Compared to Season 5, the season managed to avoid having any bad episodes, however, the exceptional episodes were fewer, and after Flutter Brutter, it entered a slump of relatively average episodes that it only came out of by the time the season was almost ending (although it did hit us with two excellent episodes in a row when it did). overall, it was a more balanced season.

My take on it was that it was just such a strong surge of power that it overwhelmed everything there. And since the Throne doesn’t absorb changeling magic, that power had nothing stopping its force.

I think I liked it more than Season 4, but not quite as much as 5.

A rather middling season in my eye, not the weakest season but not particularly strong either. There were some gems like Saddle Row Review and Flutter Brutter but overall it kind of felt like they were coasting a lot of the times, that they were only trying to just fill 22 minutes of screen time. Most episode were decent but not really all that rememberable.
