Season 6 Episode Discussion [Speculation/Theories/Beware of Spoilers]

I think the changeling is a spy and his mission is to befriend the mane 6 and gather information about them. He does this by causing the “accident” and saves Spike’s life making Twilight trust and befriend him. However, the changeling accidentally drops his disguise while trying saving Spike.

Griffons? Don’t know the basics of bartering and cant even build shelter.
 
Dragons? There’s only a dozen teenage dragons in all of Equestria.

But he’s all the way in the Crystal Empire. It doesn’t make sense for him to be there if he wants to spy on them. Also, why would the Cnangelings want to spy on the Mane 6? It was Cadence and Shining Armor that stopped them last time.
 
Changelings? Actually just 4 different people and live in a shoe.

It would make more sense for his mission to be to find out information about the crystal heart, being a giant magical rock full of love, and befriending the mane six is just something he decided to do once he was found out, kind of an improvisation to avoid blowing his cover.

I like how the changeling has the normal design, rather than designing him to be cute/nerdy like most cartoons do.

Changelings, and the one in the episode in particular, are far cuter than one would expect a pony/insect hybrid to be.
 
Whether the changeling is or isn’t a spy, hopefully the episode will be pretty entertaining :D

Depends on why he’s crying. Is he crying tears of joy because the ponies are opening up to him, or was he telling a sob story about how evil Chrysalis is and/or the rest of the changelings and he’s good or he “broke away from the hive mind” and now they want him dead?
 
This episode being good hinges a lot on why he’s there. I really hope it is good, otherwise I’ll be crying a lot harder than he is :<

So, Starlight showing up, Twilight being an ultra bitch (possibly while agreeing with Starlight), the other ponies being jerks, or the changeling being actually evil would just ruin the whole thing? D:
 
I’ve been waiting for an episode about/including the changelings since the season 2 finale as well. I’m also hoping its really good. Listing all the things you don’t want to happen sounds like tempting fate :3

So if I’m not mistaken, the first half of season 6 will be up on Netflix this Saturday, the same day the season starts back up with the second half. Is this accurate?

Changeling actually being evil and remaining evil, or being literally the only good changeling out there and the rest are all bastards.

I love what they been doing Spike does this season(even though he had some good episodes in the past).Now what more should they do with him next season,he still got some open plots.Where his egg comes from,his relationship with Rarity,grow wings and will he ever meet his folks?

Eh I just prefer spike to be a land dragon. Underrated mythical beings that lot.

I saw one fanfic recently that suggested that the reason Spike becomes a dog when going through the mirror is because of the specific species of dragon he is (the fanfic says he’s a tunnel drake and that’s why he will never grow wings). If a dragon like, say, Ember went through the portal, they’d become human.

I say he a land dragon too because we seen his adult form and he didn’t have wings.

I almost wish they could end this by taking a stance on whether he’s a different type of dragon that is never seen at any dragon gathering for contrived reasons, or if he’s out and out biologically defective in that way alone.
 
Because if tunnel drakes or the like actually existed and are otherwise similar to flying dragons in every other way, we would have more than maybe three examples of them.
