Not complaining, just an observation that it’s been happening more often as of late.
As long as some of other core villains stay evil, things hopefully won’t get too boring.
Heroes can’t exist without a good antagonist.
It be grand if Autobots and MLP met Maximals and Predacons.
POne way to show Megartron’s reydeeming is he sees Megalocon (the BW Megartron) be a monster of his forging because of his actions, and tyr to change him only to see he’s more insane such as trying to become a god as on Beast War’s Nemesis episodes and the fianle of Beast Machines as well as the Galvartron of Transformers; Cybertron.
It be grand if Diamond Tiara understood Sunset and Megartron and help.
@Background Pony #5AED
Its still Luna though.
As in Luna still reformed(granted she was forcibly purified and her split personality is supressed now).
She counts.
@Background Pony #5E70
Well, actually, he and the rest and COBRA including the Dreadnoks and the survivors of Cobra-La could still conquer the world and possibly the rest of the universe. Storm Shadow is the only member of COBRA to be defected.
@Background Pony #D3CA
This was basically Magical Mystery Cure 2.0, and like its predecessor, it really should have been a 2-parter. They should have dropped that Canterlot noir episode or Party Pooped or something.
While I liked DT’s change in attitude, I can’t help but feel it came out a bit too fast and…out of nowhere.
I mean, even when we know where her attitude comes from, it felt as if she just jumped from considering the CMC her worst enemies/insulting them without remorse…to suddenly standing up for them and thinking the world of them in a matter of minutes. It just seemed a little forced to me. I would’ve at least liked a bit of foreshadowing.
Difference? Diamond Tiara held off for five years. What makes her the most awesome of the reforming not super nice characters?
She did so of her own free will, she rose up to continue being her own independent pony. CMC only helped her see there were others willing to support her change if she truly wanted it.
@Darth Sonic
Moral qualifications belong to moral beings, I agree. But is chaos a force of nature, or a corruption of nature? This is not a point on which there is unanimous consensus.
@Millennial Dan
But that can be rebuked by “its a force of nature, and thus instantly disqualified from being evil, as morality can only be applied to people and acts related to people.”
@Darth Sonic
Like I said, depends on your philosophical starting point. If the universe was begun by an act of essential order and is in that state “good”, then disorder is fundamentally negative. What artists do is not chaotic; creating art is logical and harmonious, not chaotic and incomprehensible. Anyone can “create” chaos, or rather, inject chaos into order, but an artist’s work takes specific effort and skill.
@Millennial Dan
How the fuck could Chaos not be morally neutral? It’s the force that empowers artists while also driving mob violence. That sounds quite morally neutral.
@SnuggleLord
First of all, Discord definitely started out evil, so he has most certainly been undergoing a process of reform. As for whether chaos itself is good, evil, or somehow neutral, that depends quite a bit on your philosophical starting point.
I wouldn’t say they reformed Discord. By the definition, chaos isn’t good, nor is it evil, it’s just is. Just like Discord. So instead instead of reforming him, I would rather say, that he was tamed a bit and funneled. He remained the same, just his hijinx are on smaller scale.
I remember many years ago a “G.I. Joe” comic book that had a storyline that ultimately led to Cobra Commander getting killed. It was during the Serpentor era. It started by revealing that CC had a son who was in the hospital for some reason. A lot of pages featured CC, wearing a disguise instead of his uniform and mask, sitting bedside by his son. Midway in the story, he gets a new mecha-like uniform. But then he feels too loyal to his son to keep going on as Cobra Commander, and so he gives up the role. That’s when an underling shot him dead and took over the persona.
Does anyone remember the comic book I’m describing? I have no idea if they brought Cobra Commander back the way comic books are always bringing dead characters back.
@Trahzo
Considering Prime!Megatron used to be as noble civil rights activist before he went insane with jealousy, and was tortured by Space Satan before being reformed, it wasn’t nearly as far-fetched as a number of the entries on this list.
Chrysalis is still at large, and sombras dead in a can still come back in a convoluted way dead, And they haven’t even recycled all the G1 villains yet.
That makes no sense and doesn’t work that way.

Actually, Nightmare Moon was an evil version of Luna.
By the time this was made I mean.
I agree with everyone but Tiara and Silver Spoons reformation.
They could have been villains a little longer, rather then repenting in 1 episode.
Fanfic did better justice then this.
Everything else is fine.
@Darth Sonic
You should see the current comic version where he’s gone full autobot

Best way to turn a new leave, ever. <3

Just like darkness, its user can decide whether to use it for good or for evil.
(Thanks Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow!)
