i’m not saying they really owe anything. i’m trying to say, that most artists don’t explain or say anything, which leads to people being confused, and people making their own assumptions. mostly negative assumptions. happens a lot to avoid any confusion or any future problems that’s what i’d do. but like i said, it’s a suggestion. you don’t gotta go with it. just saying what i would do to avoid any hate or negativity, or accidentally get a bad rep, because i didn’t clear things up. but that’s my opinion. what the artist chooses to do, is up to them.

The artist doesn’t owe anyone anything. It’s their art, they draw what they want, not what others demand, nor are they under any obligation to explain anything.

If someone doesn’t want to draw X they’re under absolutely no obligation to draw X or explain to others why not. You aren’t owed X.

so i typed up this long ass paragraph, and after reading this over and over i felt i should shorten it. if you want you can keep reading. if not i don’t mind either. just thought i should say something to help.
 
You and Sundown are different. you create porn, that is just that. all your stuff on this page is porn. Sundown, creates porn, adventure martial arts stuff and stories, which doesn’t connect and makes no sense. he’ll create twilight, but spite and make her look bad. even making a power ponies pic with spike in place of twilight. and a spike pic facef**king flutter and rarity. it’s not even explained how he’s there, yet he’s there. but twilight is missing (yes he does draw pics of her, but is nagged about it constantly, and he never explains his reasons. he’s kind of immature that way. so if you see a twilight pic by him, it’s either a commission or something he’s nagged to do.). another thing. in a pic with the mane 6, if one is left out, people will get pissy. that’s usually the case for any group, that’s missing a member. almost like the Cheetah Girls, when Raven wasn’t there. but there’s a difference. you started out, with no twilight in yours. sundown didn’t. he drew twilight for a bit in group shots but he stopped. quite personally, if you choose to start out not drawing her and continue that way, i’ll be okay with it. you’re doing porn. not some adventure type deal (erotica dont’ really count. i don’t even know if you do make porn stories you just read. with your words, i’d think you do at times.) when spike pops up though, i will be needing to know why. i mean, sure sunset or trixie could be there 6th. it’s where you add someone that don’t make no sense where people lose it. (also if this seems confusing to you sorry, just got back from a convention at like 1:50 in the morning, and i’m tired). i respect an artist’s choice to draw what they love. but when they do something and don’t explain their universe, they’re diggin a grave.
 
not sure if you really care, or bother to make sense, or just completely said, “i’m done”. i just wanted to say what i felt i should to help avoid problems.
 
if you found this offensive, in anyway or just a pain to see, i’ll understand, and also, if that’s the case, please have the moderator delete the comment if you want them too. believe me when i say, i don’t wanna get on your bad side. i love your work and don’t wanna cause or be a problem. (this is probably the only comment i’ll ever make to you about a certain character. the rest of the questions will be about like normal stuff. but i’ll save that one for a different day.)

Lol, don’t sweat it. You draw poni, I write fanfiction. I have over 400k to my name, and while in hindsight I don’t like some of what I wrote, I wrote it because I wanted to at the time and it doesn’t make a lick of sense to produce something to counterbalance some nebulous scale of “fair”.

No, you see. According to him I MUST draw Twilight to prove I’m not a one trick pony (heh). Doesn’t matter that I drew other ponies. Doesn’t matter that I’ve been drawing furry stuff long before I started drawing ponies. Doesn’t matter that I recently opened a separate account for my human smut and pin-ups. Me not drawing Twilight obviously means I am stuck in place as an artist.

Seems like you were under an impression that my aim was to create some form of “high art”, when all I want to do is create some fap fodder for myself, cause hardly any artist seems to share my fixations. And with the limited amount of free time I have, excuse me for wanting to spend it on drawing something I actually enjoy. I bet most amateur artists do that. I also like how you conveniently ignored my tries at drawing both Luna and Celestia, despite them being significantly harder and noticeably different to draw than the standard run-of-the-mill ponies.
 
Speaking of porn being upvoted, of course it is! We’re on Derpibooru - a site where every day at least three out of four most popular pictures are porn. Besides, I’m pretty convinced that I could draw SFW pony pictures and still gather a solid number of upvotes.
 
And what potential are we talking about here? What potential can there possibly be in drawing smut of characters from a cartoon for 10 years old? Are we sure we aren’t bringing words that are too big for this discussion? Just fucking fap if you like my art, and if not then whatever, find something that will rock your socks off. Don’t pretend like there’s some higher position to aspire to when it comes to drawing pony porn.
 
BTW, artist-embargo (blacklisting someone because you don’t agree with their views) just screams “petty”, “stubborn” and “needs to grow up.”

Uh, i think you don’t understand the creative process at all. It’s about creating what is in you mind and your heart. Breaking out of your comfort zone is a choice, not something that defines an artist as good or bad.

Refusing to draw characters simply because you don’t like them is the mark of a poor artist, no matter how good you may be otherwise. A good artist should want to draw other characters, and not draw the same old shit over and over again. As Calmwind clarified, Sundown’s doing it, and now you’re doing it by doing nothing but drawing porn of the same three characters that not even your 50 Shades Of Grey-style monologues will make better. Nothing wrong with drawing your favorite character, be it Flutters, Apples or Rares or whoever, but god damn, try something different for once. And, also like Sundown, the only reason it has a high score is because it’s porn, the universal thumbs-up magnet. If it were otherwise, you’d be dead in the water. Even Sundown drew Twilight a couple of times even though he hated her. Character-embargo just screams “petty”, “stubborn” and “needs to grow up.”
 
And since you revealed by that comment about Twilight makes you no different than him, I guess you’re going in the Blacklist with him. Shame, you had such potential, but you’re willing to burn all of it by becoming a Sundown-clone.
