So, I got bored and was looking at TF2 stuff and maps again, and it all started cause I thought ‘Hey, the Iron Curtain looks like tech they’d use in Equestria (most of their machines seem to be at least partially wooden, even if they act more high tech than that) Soo yeah. That then became a quest of making my own weapon ideas. Then it evolved back into ‘who would be what’ because… well… I had to fit the weapons with the users’ personalities.
Then it struck me - Medieval Mode. Using some of the alternate names for classes from that, as well as some clever ideas on my end, I came to this. While reasons for most of the characters are much the same, here’s a few things I added in…
Yes. Yes he is.
Also, cool icon.
Stupid browser errors!
Who’s that last one supposed to be? Lil’ what?
Who’s that last one supposed to be? Lil’ what?
Yes, Dusk Shine, Apple Jack, Elusive, Rainbow Blitz, Bubble Berry, Butterscotch, Barb, Macareina and Lil’
And I’ll just put the OP’s original reason for making Derpy the Soldier:
“I picked the Derpy/Soldier combo because I felt they complimented each other well; the Soldier’s erratic nature, his silly mannerisms (saying names wrong, saying things that make no sense, etc.) and his somewhat iconic nature made him a perfect match for Derpy, who likewise is often depicted as silly, klutzy, and so-on.”
I like Derpy as the Soldier because both have a fairly loose grasp on reality, but care for their friends, in their own strange way.
Plus, Soldier is possibly the most upward-mobile class in the game (rocket-jumps, trick-jumps, etc), so it’d make sense that a pegasus would be the Soldier.
And Derpy just seems to fit with the crazy wanton rocket-launching destruction of the Soldier.
ya doesn’t help that the TF2 medic has to get into the frey, can you imagine if Fluttershy was actually the medic?
Meh, I didn’t care for (some) of those myself. They seemed a lot to be based on stereotypes rather than anything else. Twimedic makes a lot more sense to me than Fluttermedic did. DEFINITELY more than Twilight Sniper did.
bacon of hope :)
I did read them all, but I couldn’t help but think how funnier it would be with a huge guy, second only to Big Mac, flapping his tiny wings while bearing a huge bazooka or always screaming YEEEEEEAAAH! after a kill and then hold with his loud voice such a speech like Derpy. XD
I didn’t know Applejack had an… ( ••)

God dammit Carlos Pie.
Guess again
Carlos?
Is that you?
you should try reading the Meet the Soldier (Derpy version) by the same artist, it is pretty amusing
Is Pyro Spike known as… Spyro?

Snowflake >>>>>>>>>>>>> Derpy for soldier! Who’s with me? :D
shootgive her hisfirehappy rainbows. And since he knows that Rarity loves tobackstabvisit Pinkie Pie, he hangs out with her. (He doesn’t stay with Fluttershy and Twilight because Angel’s a jerk and Twi’s busy with Big Mac.)Good points. I suppose the fact that the Spy’s equipment is never given explanation or origin specific to him makes Rarity’s use of the items more believable in context.
Rarity knows something about illusory effects, and she’s graceful enough to be stealthy, so the spy still fits her in terms of ability.
