I decided to post this because I’m not sure I’m going to finish. There are still too many other plans and shortcomings. I’ve been putting it off for 4 years… But if it works out, someday I’ll finish it!
While I agree with @UnderwoodART that this image is firmly in the uncanny valley, I disagree with the @Background Pony #67F7’s claim that she’s uncanny due to too much realism.
The #1 element that makes Fluttershy uncanny here is that her body has the shape of a human torso, not an equine barrel. With this perspective, trying to give her a show-accurate head does her no favors, a full Flutterhorse-head would add visual balance between her muzzle and mane.
Also, her hind legs could be lengthened (and her hooves look like they were inspired by other artists and not by real hooves, or even show-style underhooves)
@UnderwoodART
I see what you mean and agree G4 has a very specific style to it that when people try to make them realistic it just doesn’t work because now I’m just looking at a horse that has some of Fluttershy’s features on it.
@PiecesOfEden
I dunno, they seem to have quite a gallery of more-or-less equally detailed work already.
@PUBLIQclopAccountant
Not in the style of realism; no more so than I would want to see photo-realistic horse details on generally show-accurate face. MLP is a very simple style, and when you start to add too much detail and force realism into the design, is all becomes very uncanny–for me, anyway.
Technically beautiful art, but realism and ponies do not mix well, at least in my opinion. Overly-defined muscles, distracting details, and an almost 3D-model level of shading… More is not always better, regardless of how gifted you are.

Not a fan of Pegasus wing musclature?
I dare to hope that if the art was finished it would look better) Then it was one of their first serious attempts to draw something.
