Curious on if they will make a EQG book of dog Spike turning human?
Given how they released a book touching on the idea of pony Spike here.
Shame the show/comics didn’t touch on the idea of pony Spike.
At least now we got a design from Hasbro on what official pony Spike might(well, technically. Since the book is non-canon most likely, but still at least we got an idea).
Hope they do the same for human Spike.

I see some people are butthurt that Spike is a stallion and not a colt, since we never see him goes to school or hang out with the CMC instead we see him hang out with Big Mac in several episodes. So Spike end up as a stallion makes sense to me, however Spike’s age throughout the show is very inconsistent.

I doubt they’ll be G5 fans debating over the characters ages, all of the main characters are practically the same age. And regardless, I probably won’t be watching the show when it happens, cuz My Little Pony ended with G4 for me. I want no part of the G5 related arguments, I’ll leave those topics to the new fans of the series.

You know, you could just ignore it if you don’t care and simply let people debate. Besides, I’m sure many similar arguments will pop up in G5 so it won’t be stopping any time soon.

In For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils we have adult Rarity in the presences of a five year old Sweetie Belle, unless Rarity is a descent amount older than Applejack (possible) Applejack would have been an adult at this time too since Applebloom and Sweetie Belle are in the same class year at school.
As you said, it’s possible for Rarity to be older then Applejack. Keep in mind that 5 or 4 years could be a decent amount of time for someone to grow and Fluttershy has said that she’s older then Pinkie, therefore confirming that the Main 6 aren’t exactly the same age. That’s not even mentioning the fact that a lot of ponies look to be at a similar age. Just look at Twilight’s mom for example!
in Where The Apple Lies Applebloom is no where to be found, could be that she is away with the parents, but the fact remains she isn’t there nor in the flashback when the mane 6 got their cutiemarks, Spike is.
Good point, but in both episodes her parents are also missing. You would think that Bright Mac and Pear Butter would be right outside, seeing Applejack off as she goes to Manehattan instead of only Big Mac and Granny Smith doing it. Based on the kind of ponies we saw them in The Perfect Pear, I find it highly unlikely that they would just stay in the house as their daughter goes on such a trip or not help Granny Smith with business. They would have a reason to be shown, Applebloom, a baby at the time (presumably), wouldn’t.
the show doesn’t treat Spike as a child character
Actually, in the very first episode we see Twilight tucking him in, stating that he’s just a baby, he runs away from home when he thinks that Twilight doesn’t love him anymore, we see him dancing with Sweetie Belle at the end of Canterlot Wedding, he’s visibly smaller then actual teenage dragons and even Smolder, who seems to be about the same age group as Sandbar, an obviously teenage pony and most importantly of all, he directly states in Father Knows Beast that Twilight raised him, not to mention that heartbreak scene. There are also other moments in the show where he is treated more like a kid then an adult.

Yes, that is possible. Just like how Appleboom is the younger sibling of Applejack.
I don’t see how any of these disproves of that flashback where again, we can clearly see a baby Applebloom before Applejack got her cutie mark.

Look at the episode again, Rarity was already a full grown mare and Sweetie Belle was much younger than she was when she met Apple Bloom. Twilight wasn’t even a teenage mare when she hatched Spike. Apple Bloom wasn’t even born yet when Applejack and Big Mac were in their teen years. So Spike is clearly older then the CMC.

I do think it is possible for Applebloom to be older than Spike but the show doesn’t treat Spike as a child character and he is not a pony and can age differently (G3 Spike was 2000 years old and still small) so until the show adds more to the mix other than speculation I see Spike as Twilight’s younger sibling and not her child or one with the status of one.

No that is fan headcanon; Spike was always close to Twilight’s age.
That’s good to know, and it makes much more sense for Spike to be closer to Twilight’s age, sense she hatched him when she was about the same age as the Crusaders. So it could be assumed that the CMC weren’t born yet when Twilight was their age.

What inconsistencies? They clearly showed a younger, cutie mark-less Applejack in the first flashback and a visibly smaller AJ and Big Mac in the second one with their parents. There’s nothing inconsistent about them. And are you really going to say that a comic that isn’t even a part of the season 10 thing is more cannon then something that was actually shown in the show itself?
I don’t know, seems like a stretch. As it stands, there’s more proof of Spike being a kid rather then an adult.

Actually, in the episode where the CMC find out about the Main 6’s cutie mark (forgot its name), we see Applejack leaving the farm without Applebloom or her parents seeing her off, suggesting that they may have passed away by that point, meaning that Applebloom would have been born by then.
Much later, in the Great Seedling episode, we saw another filly AJ flashback, this time with her and Big Mac visibly smaller then the first one. AJ had no cutie mark and we saw Applebloom riding on Pear Butter’s back, meaning that Applebloom was actually born before Spike as AJ got mark at the same time he was born.
Headcannon or not, there is evidence pointing towards Spike being CMC aged, if not a bit younger.

No that is fan headcanon; Spike was always close to Twilight’s age. Ex: when Throax was impersonating Spike’s friend he turned into a colt close to Sandbar’s age rather than CMCs’ age.
