Actually, in the episode where the CMC find out about the Main 6's cutie mark (forgot its name), we see Applejack leaving the farm without Applebloom or her parents seeing her off, suggesting that they may have passed away by that point, meaning that Applebloom would have been born by then.
Much later, in the Great Seedling episode, we saw another filly AJ flashback, this time with her and Big Mac visibly smaller then the first one. AJ had no cutie mark and we saw Applebloom riding on Pear Butter's back, meaning that Applebloom was actually born before Spike as AJ got mark at the same time he was born.
Headcannon or not, there is evidence pointing towards Spike being CMC aged, if not a bit younger.
