Do, BG17 is right.

No amount of strength would literally be making water-like ripples in lava.

Either it is magical cartoon lava in a universe with different and incomprehensible physical laws (probably this) or it is a pool of probably poisonous water fed by a heated spring, with an odd color, that is being called lava by ignorant locals.

The “Lava is really just very hot water” trope in action. Actual lava is nearly as dense as stone; you could almost walk on it if it weren’t for the whole hot-enough-to-set-you-on-fire thing.
