Technically an old discussion but I will quote that guy:
”FIM was especially quite insensitive to introverted people, almost treating them like a disease that needed to be “helped.” I get the overall theme is friendship, but come on. You can’t force friendship on people like that. “Amending Fences” was the most egregious in that regard. I liked the episode, sure, but I definitely felt patronized by this over insistence on making Moon Dancer a “normal pony.” Fortunately, G5 and Make Your Mark fixed that and then some by actually treating Misty with respect and teaching healthy lessons to kids on how it’s okay to be shy and not want to hang out with the crowd if you’re not comfortable. You’re absolutely not wrong for preferring to do different things than others. It’s one of the many reasons I feel that G5 is superior thematically.“
Basically G5 is superior because it’s more culturally sensitive? I didn’t enjoy g4 because it was culturally insensitive. I like it for the unhinged fun. Which is also the reason many fans turned their backs. Maybe they should watch some Weird Al.
