I went too hard on Starlight Glimmer on her first Jiu-Jitsu sparring session as black belt.

I catch her neck in rear naked choke and made her tap out in under 60 seconds.

I told her to be at her best, but that’s it. I was prepared for her but I felt empty inside. Like me demanding a full sized boorger but got a small sized and half instead.

One of these days, it only takes hype and potential to have someone earn black belt but not shear will, hardwork, and determination.

I’m just humbly fraud checking coaches in Equestria how come their Jiu-jitsu students get black belt that easy ahahah.

This lives rent-free in my head.

Sometimes I wonder how FIM compares to other girl cartoons before it.

Like not just MLP’s third generation but also cartoons like W.I.T.C.H, Kim Possible or Totally Spies.

I need to watch more of these toons but from I can tell, FIM is pretty unique in that it doesn’t use a school setting and focuses on friendships outside of that.

It’s probably the most relatable show for adult women to be honest. Even if the characters were meant to be vaguely 12 to 17 at first, it seems FIM embraced their more adult angle which still appealed to kids just like Spongebob.

And of course unlike many American girl toons but like Winx Club, FIM has its own world but it might be the only one with a fully fantastical world instead of being real world mixed with fantasy.

I think FIM’s greatest credit shouldn’t just be it was the first good girls cartoon, because there were many before it too, but that it went directions most girl cartoons never explored.

I’d need more full knowledge of animation history to say for certain but as far as I can tell this might actually be a resounding yes.

Sure movies like Studio Ghibli or Disney have strong female characters without school but those are movies.

Cartoon tv shows with female leads seem to almost always be set in school.

Also arguably My Life As A Teenage Robot, Owl House, Amphibia, and Ghot and Molly McGee too since even though there is a school, the school aspect is not the main focus
