Although not directly explained, one explanation that can be presumed for all those things is that the world has evolved since G4, thus why there are now creatures like bunnicorns and pegasnails in Equestria.
Yeah pretty much this. The show keeps stating that G5 is LONG after G4 enough for plenty of other fauna and life to evolve so why wouldn’t the dragons in some fashion? Or other species / dependence of ponies ( don’t forget that Pegasus were gonna have wing frills on their feet originally)

Given that the shows were produced in conjunction, certain events playing out slightly differently was clearly intentional.
It’s also clear that TYT is pretty much just a supposed to be a conjunction show to the 3D stuff that tells some of the events of the 3D series while adding in new / more comedic elements. I don’t know why that’s such a complicated spin off / side content for some. It’s like animes that have chili segments (with a small bit of more lore sprinkled in).

Why not just cut out the middleman and straight up admit that they’re all dead and that when he woke up, he feels that ping of loss and grief from seeing her closest friends all dead?
For the age demo the show is mainly geared towards they’re very rarely gonna wanna bring up actual death. Plus who’s to say this is the first time Spike woke up? Or that he went into sleep before even some of them passed? The closest the show ever had to talking on a death was AJ’s family and even then the words “dead” never got said. They don’t need to say it when it’s blatantly obvious as mentioned by others as well given how long Spike’s been around and the time passages mentioned.

  • Weather was a naturally occurring thing everywhere else, so it’s not like Equestria just wouldn’t have weather. Besides, the story potential of controlling the weather had run its course by the end of Season Two.
  • Sparky could just be a different species of dragon.
  • Granted, an explanation for how the sun and moon are moving would have been nice, and I do have to dock points for them not explaining it. But it wasn’t even relevant 99% of the time.

I mean I’m not talking about the specific length of time between the two generations, I was more referring to Spike himself feeling grief over the loss of his friends where regardless of however time passed, I think it would’ve added another layer to G5 Spike’s character

The first episode of MYM after the pilot, Izzy Does It, is when Izzy builds the motor scooter and TYT shows Izzy with the motor scooter at the time of the pilot in Dumpster Diving. This was over three months before Izzy Does It premiered, meaning TYT’s creators knew ahead of time. And let’s not forget the differences in what happened between the events of MYM Chapter 6 and the TYT recap episode. The “contradictions” between the shows are intentional.

Normally what happens is that these programs are aware of what will happen to each other, but the respective writers do not know the details of the script, which is why these differences occur.
The TYT writers knew that Izzy would have a scooter so they added it to the show.
and obviously the writers were aware of the plot of chapter 6 that’s why they made the recap but they possibly didn’t have access to the details because everything was done at the same time.
That’s the reason for the contradictions

I haven’t watched chapters 5 and 6, but I just heard that there’s an episode in Make your Mark Chapter 6 called “Secrets of Starlight”.
Do I have to be worried about?
If it is what I think it is, I might stop watching G5 and leave the fandom.

the name of the special and secrets of starlight
The logo had the same color palette as starlight
The Chapter 5 had things related to the theft of Cutie Mark like Starlight did
and they could easily call Secret of Starlight Ridge

But starlight is a word related to something very important to My Little Pony, especially because G5 is the same universe of G4
it’s impossible for the person who proposed this title to not know who starlight is.
If they didn’t want an association, just call it “Secrets of Starlight Ridge”
