Just saw your post now. Yeah I watched Master Code’s “review” a few times and I feel like he’s putting a lot of bias even though he does have a few points. Also, don’t take Star Strike that seriously. His “reviews” are just rants. Idk how or why people take his word. But that doesn’t automatically mean that everyone in the fandom hates it, just a group of people do. I know you like G5 a lot but I wouldn’t jump the gun that quickly before looking at other people’s feedback

There is a vocal minority trying to make Chapter 6 look like a terror from hell when it’s not universally hated whatsoever.
I wasn’t assuming that everyone hated it while ignoring feedback…it was the complete opposite. I was pointing to feedback debunking the pretense that everyone hated it.

I don’t remember hearing chapter 6 being “the most loved special”.
I’ve been around people who think Chapter 6 was better than Chapter 4, literally just watched a review last night calling Secrets of Starlight the best special, and remember that poll I linked to? These are what the results look like now.

I just realized the error I made in my comment accidentally referring ch6 being a single special and not including the rest of the episodes. Sorry if I’ve done a goof. I actually meant to say, I don’t remember Secrets of Starlight being “the most loved special”.
I wasn’t wherever you were at, but there’s a couple of pony servers on Discord I’m in that people said they did like it, maybe not exactly how you describe it, but positive feedback was there and not a lot of negative ones. I guess it really depends on what confined area (like this thread for example) you hear feedback.
As for the poll, yeah I’mma have to wait for EQD’s poll on it because they get a lot more people’s feedback than just one user doing the asking.

No biggie, though it would be nice if you would address the other goof where you thought I was promoting a misconception about Chapter 6 being universally hated despite the fact that I was refuting that misconception. :P Also, about an EqD poll, I have to point out that EqD polls usually only get about a thousand votes on them and about half that amount for something MYM-related. This poll I posted had 720 votes at the time I posted it and has 854 votes now (where MYM Chapter 6 is doing even better than before), a reasonable aggregate.

I don’t think that was a goof because I actually wanted to know a bit more about this “universal” hate.
This is why I have a mixed opinion on MYM. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to like it as the chapters went on, but there were a lot more things I personally didn’t like. I try my best to not get my bias out like those so called “analysts”, though unfortunately to some it does anyway. I did, however like some things they had throughout MYM, but sadly that isn’t saying much compared to how much stuff I didn’t like. I also try to avoid positive bias people and negative bias people on the series. It’s hard to find reasons to like it more than I should. ANG did give me hope on what future content had in store, but as we know, that all changed. I do try to find more open spaces on the internet to see what everyone else has to say about it. Feeback is mixed from what I can see. Idk, it’s really confusing for me on how to interparent this properly. It drives my ADHD nuts.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, had G5 been a clean slated reboot like the previous four, I think it would have been a lot better, depending on how well it’s treated or what direction Hasbro wants to go. MYM felt limited to what they could use and tell whether you believe in the Discovery copyright issues or not.

It is a goof because I never said it was universally hated, I clearly said it wasn’t universally hated.
There is a vocal minority trying to make Chapter 6 look like a terror from hell when it’s not universally hated whatsoever.
I’ve never believed that the “universal hate” actually exists, it’s just a display of how these biased, overly negative analysis videos don’t reflect the general consensus. You also said this…

That wasn’t even a link to someone else’s video, that was a link to the QuantumHippologist community post poll, which has 954 votes at the moment with MYM Chapter 6 currently, you guessed it, still dominating. If you don’t believe that’s good evidence that Chapter 6 is well-liked despite the fact that a decent portion of his audience is made up of people who don’t like G5, I don’t know what else to say.

Yeah that was an Ryay moment of me, as I’m so used to vid links, even when I read the last part of that message.
I liked chapter 6. Mostly because it moved the plot forward with the conflict of Opaline. Misty is the star of the show after all lol. The SoS special I didn’t like as much.

I’ll try this one more time because I’m wearying this conversation. I did not intend to ever imply that universal hate existed. I always said it did not exist. The “display” is not referring to “universal hate”. It’s referring to a vocal minority’s treatment of MYM Chapter 6 LIKE it’s something DESERVING of being universally hated despite the fact that most fans seem to at least be satisfied with it. That is all. Are we on the same page now?

Thank you for the receipts on exactly how much money was spent on producing the show. Also, the reason Chapters 1 and 3 are not on that poll is very likely because they’re both only one special long and are widely agreed to be the weakest parts of the show. That’s what I’d presume Quantum’s reasoning is. Ask him, he made the poll, not me. Someone even thought that poll I linked to was a video I made.

Also, that best MYM chapter poll I linked to now has 1.5K votes with MYM Chapter 6 still winning overwhelmingly. I don’t know what surprises me more, the fact that Chapter 6 truly does seem to be more popular than Chapter 4 now or the fact that this poll got more votes than an average EqD poll.
