I find it a bit weird they’re going after Palworld, considering they, and the Pokemon Company have allowed so many Pokemon rip-offs before, like “Cassette Monsters,” and even allowed some on their systems.
Heck, the Eshop has blatant Link’s Awakening, and StarFox knock-offs, and Nintendo is allowing those to be sold on their platforms. (And they ignore the Mario rip-offs on Google Play, that even misleadingly use actually Mario footage from their games, which you’d think would be infringement.)
One thing I will give Nintendo is, even if their strict copyright C&Ds, or lawsuits are annoying, at least it kinda shows they care about their properties.
Some companies like Konami and Capcom hardly care about their’s and either just ignore them, (aside from compilation rereleases) or let people/licensees do whatever they want with them good or bad.
(Like the controversial directions of the Castlevania Netflix shows. Like what happened to Alucard.)
As for being the “Disney of gaming,” I kinda disagree, as they aren’t quite that bad or controversial yet, and at least still make decent products. (And they occasionally learn their lesson, like when they got backlash for Mario Strikers, and Switch Sports releasing unfinished, and relying on free DLC too much, fans got upset, and then Nintendo listened and started making more complete games after. While other companies just ignore fan feedback.)
I also don’t think Nintendo is near as bad as EA, Activision, ECT.
They did repair my Wii for free, so sometimes they do surprisingly generous things too.
In short, I love Nintendo, even if they piss me off sometimes lol.
