I think the thing with that is mixing sympathy with understanding.
I think the case was trying invoke more of the latter give the Justice For All theme and the fact that the likes of Mini and Acro still very much get punished for their actions are clearly labeled as murderers first and everything else second. Acro’s backstory, screw up, initial revenge, brother, condition, suicidal thoughts, etc etc etc. They all come together allow us to have a great sense of understand about Acro and what lead him to an unforgivable path. You can only really know the Acro’s pain by understanding his life and figuring out all that must’ve raced about in his head, the suffering that made a good man turn murderer. Wither you feel sympathy or pity for the likes of Acro and Mini is second hand to you understanding them.
