Oh great he-who-must-not-be-named is going out with a shit take on X claiming that Furiosa bombed because audiences don’t care about female protagonists anymore.
Uh, remind me what was the highest-grossing film last year…

Doing a quick google search
Garfield
Budget: $60m
Box Office: $31.1m on opening weekend, $98m worldwide
Furiosa:
Budget: $168m
Box Office: $32m on opening weekend, $65m worldwide
Also Furiosa apparently has the worst Memorial Day opening for a film in 30 years (The previous holder being the 1994 live action Casper the Friendly Ghost movie)

Damn!
ETA: Okay, so I did find a list of reasons from one review regarding Furiosa’s performance, and there were a number of factors going against it. And no, none of them have to do with having a female protagonist.
First, while Fury Road did well, it wasn’t a blockbuster hit. It earned $380 million against a $150 million budget. Furiosa’s budget was even higher than this in an environment where demand for a prequel wasn’t that strong.
Second, it’s hard to advertise a Mad Max movie when Mad Max isn’t in it. It is a spinoff prequel following a character that isn’t being played by the same actor as the one in Fury Road.
Third, even though this is a prequel, it is less accessible to the folks who haven’t seen Fury Road first. “This is actually so essential that the film gives you a full highlight reel of the first film at the end to reinforce the villains all do get their just desserts and Furiosa emerges victorious in that film.”

I’m not giving up.
What’s considered the most simple spell/power/reality warping ability?
Something that any wizard, sorcerer, warlock, mage, or general magic user would know how to use within their first few weeks or months.

For most fantasy that tends to be something like Fire or Frost bolt.
Firebolt is a basic cantrip in DnD, and is the first damaging spell in most other game settings like WoW.
Most simplistic form of elemental magic. “Conjure this element and toss it at the bad guys.”

@Zincy
which is weird, if you try to look at it at a technical level.
@CaptainXtra
Most simple, would be something like frost or heat touch, just changing the temperature of something from physical contact, or from a distance if you say kinesis.

is really up to the writer and their worldbuilding.
since I’m from the asia side of magic, I tend to think the most basic is Qi/Mana/Magic-Pool Awareness.
As in, the student must at least first be able to perceive and gain access to their own magic pool, else they won’t be able to do anything with it.
the simplest “spells” would be to “see” your own and or others’ mana pool and movement.
The next step should be the ability to manipulate the flow of your own mana pool within your body.
idk mang. the field of wizardry can be anything from martial arts to advanced tech depending on how you write it.
As in, The Wizard can be the type able to punch a hole thru metal armor and land from 50feet without fall damage, all without being able to cast a single fireball (a la Force Users)
or The Wizard can conjure up biblical natural disasters but gets in trouble the moment a warrior throws hands with them.
or The Wizard is walking menace. Able to defy gravity and reverse-jump twenty opponents with their bare hands while casually throwing devastating projectiles at the hundred others outside of their striking distance. (Goku, Madara, Sukuna, The Avatar, etc)

Theft would be a criminal matter at that point, and any lawsuit would have to go through discovery and uncover that as a fact in the case. And while I am not 100% certain, I am fairly sure there’s judicial precedence that you cannot sue for damages if you were committing a crime when the damages occurred.

Sata Andagi!
I finally saw Garfield the other day, and I like it.
It has a similar vibe to what the 2009 show had, the animation was stylized like the comics, the story is unique (it has some similarities to Garfield on the Town but that’s about it) the relationship he has with Vic is interesting, basically he didn’t abandoned Garfield he saw him with Jon and realized Jon would take better care of him then he could, but he still visited his home to see his son grow up.
I still stand by what I said that no one would ever do better as Garfield then Lorenzo Music, but Chris Pratt still puts in a good performance; that said I really don’t agree with Jon’s voice choice, Nicholas Hoult is a good actor but I feel he just wasn’t right as Jon. Odie is Odie, Samuel L. Jackson is great as always, and I surprisingly enjoyed Ving Rhames as Otto the bull.
Only other things to mention about the movie: Nermal makes a cameo at the very end, Liz doesn’t really have much actual screentime, Garfield’s mother is never really seen in the movie at all, neither is Arlene.
Overall I enjoyed it, it’s fun in general but is also good if you are a fan of Garfield. (Jim Davis was also an executive for the film as well)

Technically, the OP could claim that the food had laxatives in it because they, themselves, were having stomach issues and pre-medicated the food. And they marked it as such so that people would be warned that it was not wholly safe to eat.

I will only watch it if Patton Oswalt is the star.
An animated show definitely makes more sense than live action movie.
That movie is definitely only given to be a so bad it’s good
