No amount of strength would literally be making water-like ripples in lava.
 
Either it is magical cartoon lava in a universe with different and incomprehensible physical laws (probably this) or it is a pool of probably poisonous water fed by a heated spring, with an odd color, that is being called lava by ignorant locals.
