Come to think of it, OP is another word that has lost its meaning to me because of how overused and misused it became. Now everytime I see someone use that word regardless of the context, I always think that it’s being used as a negative buzzword by default.

Depends though.

Most I’ve seen her use it are in situations where it works. She’s never used it during battles with villains so I hardly see it as a too easy way to resolve conflict.

Well, I have nothing against the speech itself. But that it would solve something right away, yes. Usually, the action should start first and then the talk. So I liked Nightmare Moon or Wallflower Blush, for example. After the danger was eliminated, peace talks were held. I can live with that. But to convert everyone immediately without anything really happening seems: Meh. Queen Chrysalis is my heroine to this day because she refused the offer. I know you don’t like her anymore. I’m still loyal to her. ;-)

Well, you have to admit that some of your statements in the recent past have already slightly exceeded the level of pessism. I don’t want to insult you. Believe me. I was just a little sad that your words were often VERY harsh. Almost hostile.

The whole episode had plot holes, now that I think about it, and you’re only complaining about just one?

As said, the fact they didn’t notice the mean 6 weren’t the ponies they were supposed to be was an even bigger error than Twilight’s speech. How did they NOT know those weren’t the real ones?

It kinda seems like Twilight’s been toned down in recent seasons, at least since Starlight joined the cast. I still think the most powerful thing she’s ever done was when she turned she and her friends into breezies. I still hate that shit.

@ILoveMyoozik

There are good reasons why Starlight’s level of power could be viewed negatively. I see it as a borderline desperate attempt from the writers to make her interesting. As if the only way to make her appealing was to make her just as powerful as Twilight, without giving any explanation as to why she’s a match for the Element of Magic, I might add. She’s just another prodigy with a backstory that ironically involves her magical talent being ignored in favor of Sunburst’s, who quite clearly is less powerful than Starlight is.

Oh, come on. You can’t let that depress you. I can’t know what you’re going through, of course, but Chrysalis is still a great character and is loved by many fans. I can understand that it seems a little frustrating, but her return will certainly be all the more impressive. Don’t keep your head down, okay? (smile)

Yes I did.

What I’m saying is you’re acting like the speech was worse than the fact that they didn’t notice the fakes.

For me, the speech broke up the fight between friends, end of story.

The fact they couldn’t be bothered to realize there were fakes among them is what seems stupid the most.

Oh boy, the “Twilight is the Element of Magic so CLEARLY this means she’s the most powerful magic user ever even though this idea is pure fanon” excuse.

I liked the fact that Twilight has an equal in magic without any destiny crap involved.
