Unpopular opinion time

So on the one hand we get the debut of Cozy Glow episode, Chrysalis’ revenge episode, the comic return of Tempest and the conclusion to the Ponyville Mysteries books in June.
 
On the other hand June begins the show’s mid-season hiatus.
 
I’m so conflicted.

I don’t think that Princess Luna is from the night.

I’ve always adored the headcanon that when the Royal Sisters retire Sunset and Twilight mantles the positions of the Sun and Moon respectively.

I always disliked that idea, partly because their names make no sense for it. But mostly because it screws over Luna. Usually in fics where that happens like 5 years after coming back from 1000 year banishment Luna is forced to give up her throne, kingdom, special talent, and purpose for existing to someone else.

I’m of the headcanon that Pear Butter and Bright Mac are alive somewhere. Not just because of massive feels, but because Apple Bloom didn’t exist until Applejack was a teenager or later. Maybe a later episode will clarify it some more. And if not, well, there’s always that comic and fanfiction. Because them simply being dead is about as depressing as playing a Yoko Taro game without knowing anything about his games. Yes, I compared MLP to friggin NieR, I make wild comparisons all the time, just never post them for obvious reasons.

We didn’t see Apple Bloom in AJ’s cutie mark flashback, but there are hundreds of other characters we didn’t see either, that doesn’t mean they didn’t exist. She would have been an infant at the time, those don’t go walkabout much.
 
I honestly think the Apple Parents being alive would be far more miserable than them being dead; alive, they’ve missed literally every important thing that’s happened in their children’s lives, to the point where they’re only talked about in the past tense, and that means they’re either in prison for for something so awful that nop[ony is willing to even talk about them or they’re just utter scumbags with no regard for their family. Neither of those is anywhere near the level of fondly remembered parents whose values still shape the family’s lives long after their passing.

We don’t see a lot of things, that’s the fun of coming up with your own ideas. Apple Bloom wasn’t brought up whatsoever in the episode, so as far as I can tell she wasn’t even born yet. For all we know the parents probably ended up stuck on an island somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Oh well, at least they were so cute from start to finish.
