He’s also weirdly competent within that episode though. Like he managed to successfully do all of AJ’s tasks, like counting every single blade of grass.

Basically, Spike goes back and forth between messing up and being weirdly competent in that episode depending on whichever is funnier for that particular situation.

I still think the shadow in Castle Mane-ia was Tirek.

With the increased focus on connecting the mediums I would like to see Lilymoon appear in the second half. Would be simple to have her in a crowd shot amongst the other kids.

I’d honestly love to see Lilymoon in the show, even if it’s just what you mentioned.

I still find it pathetic that everyone losses their mind when Starlight is mentioned.

And events from the chapter books have been mentioned at least once in the show, so there’s a possibility she might turn up. Remote, but it’s there.
 
The only thing that’s turned up from the comics in the show has been writer OCs. Character crossovers seem potentially ripe in general, not least because it gives more variety to crowd shots.

And then there’s the whole Legends of Magic line and the movie prequels where the comics get to debut and foreshadow characters/plots first.
 
Comic exclusive stuff will no doubt stay comic exclusive. But can’t really tell what’s exclusive and what ain’t anymore.

WHatever characters turned up in the movie tie-in were designed and given their backgrounds by hasbro, for what it’s worth.

Well, O&O doesn’t TECHNICALLY count since they changed the name when it appeared in the show (“Ogres & Oubilettes” instead of “Oubilettes and Ogres”)…

“Feeling Pinkie Keen” didn’t feel like a controversy at all.

Legends of Magic are likely base around the upcoming episode, not the other way around. Same for the prequels for the movie.

I could be convinced easy that the CMC being filly scouts in the show when the comics made them one first was a coincidence. I could be convinced that the comics making the EQG Shadowbolts being a rival team to CHS first was a coincidence. I never understood why people think Bab’s cutie mark is a throw back to the comics, so I can also easily think that’s a coincidence. Since they all most likely were.
 
There’s no way you can convince me that two separate teams coming up with the same obtuse and obscure pun is a coincidence. How many people even know what an oubliette is?

That’s exactly what they are. Show/movie characters first. IDW just got the chance to debut them.
 
Tell any Star Wars fan that General Grievous was a “movie character” and you’ll just get some unamused stares though.

Speaking as a philosopher, it felt to me like someone had been reading up on Kierkegaard.

Regardless of where the damn character or story initiated, more crossover between the books, novels, show, and movie(s) is a good thing.

Starlight and Sunset are two totally different characters and the comparisons between them, as well as the arguing between Starlight fans and Sunset fans, are just silly and pointless.

Ogres and Oubliettes could have been so much more than it actually was. Anyone who’s actually played D&D or been apart of tabletop roleplaying games could have provided tons of ideas on how to truly make the episode shine.
 
Instead of the game being where the characters imagine themselves on great adventures, particularly with the Mane Six involved, instead if spending half the episode with Discord trying to say he didn’t have any interest with hanging out with the guys or that he thought the game was stupid.
 
Seriously, they had a guy who could literally bring the game to life and they barely monopolized on it. That was the one time I probably would have been able to like a Discord episode after his reform.
 
It was a waste.
