Kind of like what happened with Prohibition and booze according to Herbert Asbury’s book The Great Illusion. Beforehand, most people tended to be moderate in their drinking. And being publicly drunk was shameful. Afterwards? Staggering down the street, to your job, your classroom*, became a sign of maturity and sophistication.
I don’t think it’s that close, and she tends to make them look alot wackier then the show. I kinda prefer Andy Price.
And that begs a whole other thing about the “pies” that Pinkie or the Cakes make.
Now somebody needs to make a Sweeney-Todd-like song about Ponyville. (Like “New Orleans” in Simpsons.)

Then again, painting fake road stripes is illegal, and so is placing a harmful or distracting object in the middle of traffic.

Even if there’ wasn’t a law, I probably wouldn’t go around and punch random people in the face. Why should I do something like that?
Sure there are some idiots who do this kind of stuff for various (idiotic) reasons, but they’re doing it despite it being against the law.
Not punching random people in the face is just common sense among most of mankind.

Depends on what it is. Like say I can understand keeping alcohol legal, and people wanting to legalize medical marijuana as those actually have some health benefits if they aren’t abused.
Meanwhile stuff like “crystal meth” just seems to screw people up.
I mean if stuff like punching a random person in the face wasn’t against the law, everyone would do it. There has to be some order.
