Both of these molds have eye concealing face wear that cover the shape of the characters’ viewing orbs molded on.
Are the eyes and stuff the same? I mean, obviously the colours will be different, but if I remember right, some characters’ eyes are shaped differently.
Blind bag Soarin’ is the same mold as all the other (female) Wonderbolts.
& the probable Neon Lights equivalent blind bag pony is the same mold as DJ Pon3.

On topic, though, are there any ponies who are repaints of the opposite gender, the way the Victorion combiner is made up of repaints and retools of male characters despite being female?
Like, say, a stallion who’s a redeco of Applejack, or a mare who’s a recoloured Thunderlane?

after years of having a femme from dude transformers, yes, it’s hilarious to have a male transformer from a female mold.

That said, I can understand why fans of the Technobots would be so bitterly disappointed with Betatron. Hasbro loves the Constructicons and Combaticons, the Combiner Wars were good for the Stunticons, Protectobots and Aerialbots, Transformers Prime homaged the Terrocons with Abominus and used the name Predaking for a badass…
And the Technobots get represented with a straight repaint of Superion’s torso. That’s got to be about as disappointing as finding out that a new Tarantulas figure is just a repaint of Black Arachnia.
After all they’ve been pandered to and been ingrates about it while those of us who like other generations got table scraps by comparison, the Geewunners can sit down and shut up about Betatron. They won’t, of course, they never do.

I was actually just amused by the fact that someone named Swindle is voicing Transformers. That’s like, totally meta or something.
But yeah, Latta’s voice is probably hard to duplicate. Closest was Terrorsaur, I’m guessing.

I hope whoever they get actually tries to duplicate Latta’s old Starscream/Cobra Commander voice. Or at least pull off Starscream’s “Ahahahahaha!” laugh from the old days. I doubt the guys who’ve voiced Starscreams before like Tom Kenny, Chris Adler or Steve Blum have ever tried to sound like Chris Latta did.

Wheeljack and Frenzy are being voiced by Christopher Swindle according to IMDB
No word on Starscream, but I’m sure they’ll be able to find a VA with a voice like Latta’s Tom Kenny comes to mind but probably won’t happen because of TF:A connections
Also, IMDB’s saying Black Brad Garrett - I mean Arthur Burghardt is voicing Devastator, but no official confirmation AFAIK

Though I wonder who they’re going to get to voice Wheeljack and Starscream. Hopefully to keep the whole G1 vibe going, the guy’ll voice both of them the way Chris Latta did.
Honestly I don’t care whether it’s G1 or not, I’m pretty hype for the old voice actors returning
